Tides of War respects the privacy of its members and visitors. This notice explains the information Tides may receive when you use the community, why that information is used, and how it is handled.

Tides of War is a community site operated primarily by volunteers. Information is used as necessary to operate, secure, moderate, and improve the community.

Information you provide

When you create or use a Tides of War account, you may provide information such as your username, email address, account credentials, profile information, posts, private messages, preferences, and other information you choose to submit through community features. Information posted publicly should be considered visible according to the permissions of the area where it is posted.

Information collected automatically

Like most online communities, Tides may receive technical information when you access the site, including IP address, browser or device information, timestamps, requested pages, referring information, and other technical information generated while using the service. This information may be used to operate the site, maintain security, investigate abuse, troubleshoot problems, and administer the community.

Cookies

Tides of War uses cookies and similar browser storage where necessary to provide site functionality such as maintaining login sessions, remembering preferences, and supporting security features. Some functionality may not work correctly if required cookies are disabled.

Email and notifications

Tides may use a registered email address for account administration, security notices, requested notifications, community communications, and other functionality a member chooses to enable. Available account preferences can be used to control optional notifications.

Sharing and disclosure

Tides of War does not sell member personal information. Information may be accessible to authorized administrators or service providers when reasonably necessary to operate and secure the community, and may be disclosed when required by applicable law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse, security threats, or threats to safety.

Account security

Tides takes reasonable measures to protect community accounts and information, but no Internet service can guarantee absolute security. Members are responsible for protecting their account credentials and should use a unique password, keep account information secure, and log out when using a shared device.

Your information

Members can view and update information made available through their account and profile controls. Questions about information associated with an account that cannot be addressed through those controls may be directed to Tides of War Administration.

Changes to this notice

Tides may update this Privacy Policy as the community, its services, or applicable requirements change. Material changes should be communicated through the community when practical. The current version published in the Tides Guide applies to current use of Tides services.
