Dang it!! I forgot about the meeting last night. I wanted to go to it. Freaking wife had the day off yesterday and I got side track. And yes HAWK, we could have sat in the back and hold hands. HAHA! But since i missed the metting. I will say it here. The only complaint I have is the forums. Meaning Air Attack forums just one of the many forums in the TOW forum board. US Air Attack should be indepent away from others. I know Tbar reason why he did it in the first place. But I wont go into that. I made this site a couple of days ago, just to prove a point. Its was to show how simple it was to add a forum to a website away from TOW site. And i am freaking moron, and uneducated. Here is the link to it.... http://www.geocities.com/tomcruise8/index.html?1184882803924 Click the tab on that adveristment banner on right side of page, to remove it. The cool part of that forum on that link. You can change the board style in your profile. Meaning your not stuck with just one type of board style. And made everything in a couple of hours. I didnt add all the squads to the button on front webpage, because I didnt know their website. Also I was only making that website to prove a point. If I wanted too, I could have paid GEO CITY, the place I made that website at $9.00 per month to remove all the ads from site, and free domine name, and web hosting.

thanks,

Nitro

I've heard a few others say the same thing, the site needs to be separate from TOW. I don't understand why. What difference does it make?
It means a lot. US Air Attack suppose to be independent away from any squad sites. I do know a lot of other US pilots that feel the same way, and they refuse to post here. Because the US Air Attack forums are mixed into TOW forums. Check out this forum I made, it was simple and free
http://usairattack.s4.bizhat.com/index.php...rum=usairattack Tbar could have done same very easily. Just link a forum to the FORUM button he has on US Air Attack webpage. But instead he mix US Air Attack forum into TOW forums. Hell I am the US Air Attack forum monitor here, and I have the most to loose. I am not afraid to stand up for what is right. And another thing I dont care for, is those private STAFF forums. There are total of 5 private area only US STAFF members can view. I can view them all because I am part of the US Air Attack STAFF. If your not a staff member, then you cant view the private post or enter those private forums. I am not big on keeping things from the general public. We are no better or special then the other US members that come to this site. Suppose to be a community, not US Staff members and then rest. My two cents worth.

I also don?t get it, Nitro.

Once you have saved the cookie and stay logged in, you?ll never see the other ToW-forums again, if you don?t search for them. But those online-gamers who play other games at ToW can find the AA-forums easily and if they?re getting curious about the game. This way USAAC can easily welcome and recruit new AA?ers. In my book it is rather an advantage. I wish TAA -site, would have had such an advantage 4 years ago. And again: ToW isn?t a squad. ToW is an online-gaming community, which plays alot of different games. Tbar may should inform you better about the history of ?ToW?. When have they started, what games do they play, how many members at all, who is who ? etc.etc.

Forums - styles really is that important ? The site consists not only from boards, hence the site has a certain style. In this case it is the US-style with blue, red and white colours, what other forums-styles do you think would fit into this US-style ? TAA-forums are also only available in green and yellow because the rest of the site is green and yellow ---> TAA-style. Same with UKAAC, white and....err....is it blue ? Is it purple ? Whatever. Also: such a website need to have a permanently style and needs to be easily identifiable. As it is with the ?Golden Arches? and red/yellow colours of Mc Donald?s, so it is with website banners and its colours. You better don?t fiddle around with them too much. Have you ever seen TAA or UKAAC changing their banners, colours, styles ?

Now colours and styles are a matter of taste. Not everyone likes blue, red and white or green and yellow, or whatever. And if other styles are available to switch to, it is a nice ?extra? a ?gimmick? but really not that important, I?d decline to visit a certain site, if such extras are not available.

What we need to understand here is the fact that we at least got the site started.Yes it is a part of the TOW site for now.I believe that after we get rolling and get established like we want to be,we will be able to move The USAAC site to it's own domain. Then we will have more flexibility in the way it looks and feels. This is just a temporary site. It's a start for the USA pilots.

It don't cost much to get a domain up and running.I would donate as well as some others who expressed interest in helping to make this happen.

So let's work together to get this one running first. Then we can discuss moving the site as needed to make it independent of TOW.

There are no secrets here.Anyone is welcome to read the forums. And we may pick up a few new people from the TOW members in the process.

The US Air Attack site I thought was already independent from rest. I had no problem with that. I found it odd he could make a very complex US Air Attack web site, but couldnt put our very own simple US Air Attack forum on it. I am complete moron and uneducated and I made this forum.. http://usairattack.s4.bizhat.com/usairattack.html

Mr Nitro,

You can be such a great guy .. can be such a great friend .. if only you would use diplomacy and tact and 'work with folks' instead of 'attacking' everything .. and everyone. You come across as if you are the only one that knows how to do something right .. and right for the USA Community. You seem to want to project a predefined perception with a cave man like thinking process. Chill out .. take a pill .. sit back and watch, listen and learn. I know you are smarter than you are presenting to everyone.

Personally I think you are a very clever person. I think you are capable of good thought, but it seems to me you let emotions posses you and your better judgements. You have a tendency to speak first .. rather than think first.......

You have started a US Air Attack Site to show the world a "point" you are making that forums can be anywhere .. you are exactly right. We all know that .. and a majority of the BoD is not new to forums, websites, etc. Do you think that the folks that run the squads don't know what can and can't be done? There is far more involved to a 'total site' and the grand picture than simply forums., far more. Think Nitro .. all the CO's "KNOW" about forums, websites, links, and how the Internet works, you are not telling them something they don't know.

When an organization like the USAAC is forming and coming together .. do you really think the most important issue to them is 'where the forums are"?

Continue work on your site .. try to bring it to the level and complexity of the current USAAC. I challenge you. You can't do it alone, you need help, and that is what the TowNet Organization has supplied to help get this new organization up and running. Pay the "9.00" per month and keep your efforts going. You will need some 'talent' to work with you in order to get that going. I suspect it will take you a year, or longer.

This particular forum set up is "commercial" software.. it has more checks and balances as well as hack protection than any board I know of .. especially phpBBweb. Any feature you want.. including selectable skins and styles is available. I've kept this forum to its simplest state so the members could get 'adjusted and comfortable' before we introduced all the options. A "kiss" method if you will.

When you speak of "independent" I would like to you think about the following thoughts and statements I have already said many times and will say again at the risk of boring our general readers once again.

1) Independent means the ability to do as one pleases. The USAAC can manage their site and forums as they see fit. If they wish to close this forum today and hook into the Nitro forums immediately .. they need only vote to do so. If they wish to move the domain completely .. they need only rule such to be. Independent means if they wish to address more important issues at the current time .. they may do so.

2) Independent means the BoD may use the thought process and define things as they wish.

3) Independent means that one is not dictated too. TowNet nor the ToW:BSS nor any other body of influence dictates to the USAAC BoD, they are independent to do as they wish. If you think for one second that the CO's and XO's of the USAAC are dumb .. are pushovers .. or can have the wool pulled over their eye's by Tbar or anyone else .. drop back and punt. These folks are very smart, been down many roads .. and can see the forest thru the tree's. Give them credit for what and who they are. Consider this .. total up the numbers Nitro .. the Squads of the USAAC have feed back and input from their members and if they didn't 'feel right' .. it would be in the open.

You have issue Nitro .. and to make the focus of 'forum independence' a stumbling block to progress is truly ignorant. Please .. give this more thought as there are far better things to address right now for a positive future for the USAAC.

You have many issue's and its not just the forums .. in fact if you think about it what difference does it make at all? Are you suggesting that TowNet runs the USAAC? Are you suggesting that Tbar runs the USAAC? I doubt you can really come up with one reason why this 'total independent' mess is spewing from your mouth. Think of it this way .. TowNet is a YMCA, if your new clan or any new squad need a place to get started... TowNet would probably help them out with everything they needed. Is that so bad? At the same time your clan would be free to come and go and do as you pleased. The only rules are common sense rules, ToS and CoC that any IPS has and boils down to "be nice, don't hurt the other guy, don't disrupt the other guys good times." That simple. Would you feel better if TowNet billed the USAAC? Would that make you feel like you are independent because you pay for the services?

Kindly let me ask you one other question .. where is TowNet different from UKAA or TAA or KAA? Does TAA host squads or provide any services for them? Does the UKAA host any squad sites, provide any services for them? Does the UKAA have other groups that don't even play AA? Can't the USAAC be as advanced in thinking as the TAA or the UKAA

Did you know that Bad Squadron got their real website start at Tides of War? We hosted them and if not for that group wanting to grow into its own type of Tides of War would probable still be here. (Totally independent) Did you know that many of the Bad Squadron Members were once STAFF at TowNet? Did or do you know there is another squadron considering TowNet as there host? Where is the sin in all this? Would it not be nice for a new upstart squad to know they can have some facilities so they feel on equal footing with other squads and establish a presence so they can recruit? Have you been to the Black Sheep Squad site? Its independent of ToW, they simply are 'hosted by' in a manner they did not have to buy a domain to accomplish what they wanted. What the BSS has that maybe other squads don't have is a complete staff on hand to help them with things they need .. the TowNet Staff ... not the BSS staff. BSS does not have the talent to build the website they have now and if not for ToW staff would probably be on "GeoCites".

Would you be happy if the ToW Squad disbands and/or moves to some other facility so that the USAAC is "totally independent" .. in your eyes?

The real problem here is that you (and several other) don't understand what Tides of War is. WE are NOT a clan and we are NOT a squad. That simple. TowNet is no different than Geo Cities Nitro .. no different than Yahoo, no different than any other Multi-play Gaming Site... in the way you are thinking. Tides of War is a "CLUB", to become a level 1 member you must join, be accepted and pay DUES. All other members of Tides of War at all other levels have NO Fee's. The ToW Club pays for everything and they run TowNet. TowNet or Tides of War is totally non-profit. Exept for myself, not one single member of the BSS is a member of the ToW Club!!

In closing Mr Nitro, I don't feel inclined to answer any further post or accusations or slander you might put forth. If at any time you ask a legitimate question I would answer in the same manner I would answer anyone else. Any other type of posting .. I will no longer entertain you as I have far to many other 'positive' things I need to do. I leave you with this .. if you have a problem with Me, the BoD, or any of the STAFF at USAAC .. please address that complaint to Sal.
