And Now....

My gut feeling, you're looking out a minimum of a few months. I'm sure there would be at least that time period working over the beta ironing out bugs and tweaking balance etc. I think it's a good thing. In the mean time, I think the modding commnity will play a big part in tiding people over till release. Realistically, the longer MP is pushed out, the more polished and feature rich it's going to be. It's all up to TAG, and I'm confident they're on the right path.

Judging from what we saw at enigmacon, we wont be wating forever.

They were able to have a sever up and running, with all the machines working with the others, and in real time with no lag.

It seems to me that the bugs are relatively minor, so to speak, and with shawn eastley at the helm it shouldnt be too long.

It seemed to me that most of the problems they were having had to do with artwork compatibilty, and that should be relatively minor repair work.

also, the version we played at enigmacon did have things missing from the patch, but stuff added since the retail release. I believe they are sincerely trying for gameplay equality and detail, as well as simply pleasing us the fans.

IT seemed to me at enigmacon that the express wishes of TAG is that this is OUR game, and that they are simply trying to provide us with what we want. They emphasized that they read ALL of the posts, and take into consideration ALL of our suggestions and input.

Long story short, the wait shouldnt be too long, and when it is finally released we will have a VERY VERY impressive product on our hands.

I was not at enigmacon, so please correct me if I am wrong, but you had no lag issues over a LAN.

Halo, for xbox, plays fine over a LAN. Try tunneling across the 'net, and 4 players or more bogs it down. I'm betting there are some lag issues to iron out for dialup users, maybe even for low-speed broadband (128k ISDN, 256k DSL, satellite, etc).

I'm not sure what the configuration setup was, if it was lan or mp.

The Idea is to play enigma online, so if it was a lan, Argon is correct about it being a beta.

The only issues that were really apparent to be honest simply had to do with some model compatability .

Other than that....well....look out M8's, cuz I'll be sending you down to the deep sometime soon !!!:

I 'd prefer waiting longer , to be sure of it.

I do not even expect it to be in 2004 ! ,,But maybe only just !

More importantly , is that it is playable on dial -up.AND ::

A CD is produced and available without patches,, and patches upon patches to patch other patches !

I don't wear clothes with patches , and all this patching seems so far to have been problematic in a few ways,, One is the sheer technical ability , and capability of those attempting to download them , and the very patches themnselves .

Another thing is,, that , if we change our computers ,,we would have to start ALL over again,,!!

Let's have an up to date CD available , sometime ,, when the game is sorted .
