Surface Vs. Surface Tacitcs

Just wondering about everyone's pearls of wisdom on this subject.

-I've learned quite painfully that two 'vettes can seriously mess me up, even sink me, in a DE, before I can even dream of putting fish into them. I've been trying to engage them from the side, to bring both my guns to bear, and then sending wild torpedo volleys at them, hoping i'll hit them. Should I take them head on, to lower my profile???

But, the point of this post, is for me to try and compile a collection of general surface vs. surface tactics, any thoughts are appreciated. :)

I've been doing pretty much the same, only in an Alliance-class DD, and it never seems to work out for me vs Enemy DDs, or DEs even :/. Charging in towards them, and then wheeling around soI get my narrow profile, as well as having my four rear-firing guns to their more limited front guns as they pursue sounds like it should be good to, but never seems to work out quite that way...

I use most of the time a Fletcher. Then if the enemy is weaker then me or my force I run face to face with im and torpedo away when I cross him. But on 1vs1 I usually run around my target to use all my guns, and I fire torps to force him to change course. When the enemy is stronger , I flee at flank speed and changing course all the time.

no one seems interested in this thread, but I'm going to put this down for anyone who's having trouble killing guarded convoys.

Step one, order your allies to engage the escorts directly

2, move in a "Grand Flank" around the end of teh convoy

3, watch your allies get owned by the escorts, but as they turn around to engage you, they won't (can't) shoot at you through the convoy.

4. Fire at will, any return fire you recieve will most likely plug into one of teh merchants. :D
