Post your own little tidbits, tell your part of the Enigma story.
What wonderful day it was in the Enigma world. The weather, that is. Clear skies, without a cloud in sight.
The war was another matter. The LFN had landed in Singapore, and were about to overrun the US forces there. Commander Mark realized that he had to do something. Before his 30-day subscription period expired.
He'd been lying on the surface for a few minutes now, watching the waves and keeping the gun crews inside the ship, to keep the sub ready for diving when the time came.
Finnally, a flash on the horizon. Certainly an enemy battleship firing another salvo at the beleagured defenders of Singapore. Not for long, though.
"RIG FOR DIVE! FLOOD THE TANKS!"
"AYE AYE SIR!"
"LOAD TUBES ONE AND TWO!"
But it was not a battleship. As it approached, it became... a KLM Mosqutio!
Confusion stirred throughout the ship. As the Kraut dropped his bomb, the USS Lionfish descended below the waves. Only an AI player would be stupid enough to pass up that opportunity. Too late for him now.
The XO walked in then. "Skip, we've been waiting for a while now. I don't think the LFN has any ships around here."
A good suggestion. The Lionfish set sail for South Singapore.

the De havlin mosqutio was british so in that case it would be league not german
Nope, the Kaiser got the plans for the Mossie, since it was developed *after* WWI, which ended when the Germans conquered England.
Here's a short story for you....
On a small Island in an undisclosed location a hodgepodge of Warships congregates from the four corners of the world for the purpose of War. They do not fight for love of Country nor do they fight for world domination. Although their goals are mutual their motives are as unique as the men who embrace them. Just what is their purpose? I will attempt to clarify this purpose in these writings. When all is done this document will surely find it?s way into the annals of history for this is the story of The Assassin?s Alliance. To totally understand this elusive Alliance we need to go back to what is now known as the Great War.
The German Empire was expanding rapidly with no sign of stopping. Overrun by the Imperial Army the European Nations surrendered one after another. Only the might of the Royal Navy could hold the German?s at bay. War Ships from the invaded county?s fled to Britain in hopes of aiding the Royal Navy and avoiding capture. The Royal Navy fought Valiantly but the battle over land was not fairing as well.
The Americans watched these events unfold with a wary eye. With their own expansionist goals on the drawing board the Americans needed to find a way to stall the Imperial Empire so that they could amass a Navy large enough to dominate the Atlantic and Pacific. Not yet ready for the confrontation the Americans needed a plan.
The Americans had to find a way to hold off the Germans until they were prepared for the conflict that was inevitable.
The final plan was to send a Task Force of volunteer Sailors in old Surplus Warships flying the British Ensign to take a one-way trip to join the Royal Navy and the other (exile) European Warships to help hold off the Imperial aggression by sea. This would encourage the British to fight on and give the Americans some much-needed time to build their forces while depleting both the forces of the Germans and the Royal Navy. This plan was indeed a long shot by any estimation but whatever time they could buy would be worth the price. Some of the finest U.S. Sailors and Commanders (itching for action) volunteered for this duty (not knowing it was a one way trip) and sailed to meet up with the British Navy in their patched and plugged Warships. This Secret Plan was known as Operations Security Blanket.
Before any real action could be seen by the American operatives Politics reared its ugly head and England surrendered to Germany. Churchill ordered the Royal Navy to ignore the surrender and flee to meet up with the Japanese Navy to form an alliance. This alliance was known as the League of Free Nations. The Japanese cared nothing for stopping Germany and merely wanted to use the Royal Navy (now in exile) to further their plans to dominate Asia and the Pacific. They reasoned that having the Royal Navy (in exile) sailing under the same flag would possibly curtail the Americans from interfering with their plans. Having nowhere else to go the Royal Navy (in exile) was forced to play the Japanese pawn. Make no mistake; this was the only offer on the table for the Royal Navy (in exile).
The dubious Alliance negotiated by Churchill fractured the command of The Royal Navy. Some, wanting to go home and except defeat (with dignity) were allowed to do so but without their vessels. Another group lead by Commander Buxton refused to play into the hands of the Japanese and rejected the Alliance altogether. Most of the European Warships as well as part of the Royal Navy sided with Commander Buxton to head south toward the Mediterranean. Churchill declared Commander Buxton and all British ships that followed him Mutineers and swore to hang every last one of them.
The Americans, now sailing with the Royal Navy (flying the British Ensign) was left in a precarious situation. Their orders were to fight on but for whom? When informing the U.S. Government of their predicament, this is the letter they received.
This letter is to officially inform you that the U.S. Government denies any and all ties with any Warships involved in the European Conflict. The American Government has no official stance in regards to the current conflict in Europe. Any Warship Involved in said conflict that enters U.S. waters will be sunk on site regardless of Country of Origin.
Secretary of State
Having been abandoned by their Country, the American Task force joined Buxton?s Outlaw Armada and sailed off to an undisclosed portage. Money trickled in from the dissidents of the now entrenched German Empire but it was not enough to sustain them and their vessels so they periodically resorted to Pirating. They captured American and German Merchants, Oilers and an occasional League Warship. Their attacks were swift and their tactics were flawless. The frequencies of their attacks were sporadic and unpredictable. Often times the World powers would blame each other for the disappearance of their ships. These warless warriors were under no elusions. They knew that by selling their bounty on the black-market they would eventually be found or turned in as soon as the price was right.
This group of rogues, pirates and mutineers came to the conclusion that there would be no end to the expansionism now that the U.S. and Japan had joined in the race to rule the world. They decided at this time to form an Alliance to end expansionism around the world. This Alliance was known as The Assassins Alliance. The newly formed Alliance ceremoniously cut down their National flags and Hoisted the Red & Black ensign of the Assassin?s and declared war on expansionism! They agreed to strategically strike any and all of the Expansionist Nations whenever and wherever possible. With the support of many small nations living in fear of the expansionist Countries, the Assassins found themselves welcomed and aided all over the world. The Alliance grew in numbers as well as in popular support. The growing numbers of small Countries loyal to the Assassins concealed their Ports and aided their cause. Their Armada (although small) was dominated by some of the best Commanders from around the World. Soon the tonnage claimed by the Assassins exceeded those of the largest and most advanced Armada?s in the world. Although the Super Powers of the world were embroiled in conflict they found that the Assassins could no longer be ignored. Before world power can be achieved the Assassin?s would have to be dealt with, and so it begins?

buxton: Good story, Argon
Here we go....
The periscope scan was almost complete. Nothing on the horizon until... yes, something.
Increasing the scope's magnification, he saw a battleship. It had a streaming read flag with a skull, and, most noticeably, a slew of drunk sailors dancing around the deck.
Mark was puzzled. Then, he remembered. The mutineers. They had been raiding the southern islands with great effect.
"Up Scope.
Battleship spotted bearing 365', range 10,000".
"Who's out there?" the XO asked.
"The damn pirates."
After a few minutes, the scope went up again and they compared the new results with the old ones. Excellent, a huge target sitting in the middle of the ocean of south Singapore, traveling at 15 knots and without escort.
"Rudder left to 366', 2/3 speed."
"Aye Aye, Captain"
Suddenly, a pinging noise tore threw the ship. There was something he hadn't spotted. An enemy anti-submarine vessel. How could he not have seen it? It didn't matter. It was time to run away.

As the type vII steamed atop the surface, commander wrench wondered why in the hell he had joined the Imperial fleet. Then it dawned on him that he was in it for the action and the women. Unfortunately, fleet command had dispatched his sub, the Harbinger, to a relatively desolate spot known as the doldrums. Far from any women or drink, he sighed in despair, when his xo, lieutenant zur zee Siemens rushed into his stateroom.
" Sir, we have a contact!" he reported in excitement. This was the first sighting of anything for weeks.
Commander Wrench leapt from his bunk and rushed forward to the control room.
" What do we have? " he asked
" Merchant convoy sir, maybe some escorts as well, but I cant be, sure as we have alot of cavitation. Bearing 253, 7 knots heading 120"
" UP periscope ! "
Indeed there in his sites lay a fat convoy, ripe for the kill.
Commander Wrench took a breath to shout out the torpedo headings, when he spotted a ragtag fleet of corvettes and destroyers descending upon the helpless convoy.
Confused, he decided to watch for a moment, when suddenly the enemies mast head came into view.
"Assasins! " he whispered
Now came the time for a decision only he could make,
Attack the enemies of all nations, or choose to surrender, and hope to be recruited into their ranks. If he were to prove useful to this enigmatic group of sailors, there promised to be many nights of drunken bliss with unnamed women, and plenty of introductions to be made to Davy Jones.
He turned to his crew, slowly scanning ther expectant faces, when he asked them what they chose to do.
Many chose to surface, and the few who refused were quietly escoted to their bunks, and watched over with armed guards.
As the sub surfaced and the commander stood upon the flying bridge, white flag raised high, he waited as the lead Assasin ship approached..........

OMFG Mark and EngineRoom those are great addons, a very good laff indeed
Lieutenant: Look Captain! Surfaced Sub off the port bow!As the sub surfaced and the commander stood upon the flying bridge, white flag raised high, he waited as the lead Assasin ship approached..........
Captain Argon: Battle Stations men! Prepair for evasive! Signal the other ships! What flag does she fly Lieutenant?
Lieutenant: I think its German?NO WAIT?. it?s a white flag sir.
Captain Argon: Does she look damaged?
Lieutenant: No Sir?not from what I can see.
Radioman: Captain Argon, the other Ships want to know what?s going on?
Captain Argon: Tell them to go ahead with the attack I will deal with this Sub personally. Tell them to be careful there may be more.
Radioman: Aye Sir.
Lieutenant: Captain, we are such a fierce fighting force that the enemy cowers and surrenders at our presence! Let's sink the coward!
Captain Argon: Not so fast Lieutenant? That?s no coward... He surfaces in the middle of an Assassin?s attack when he could have dove and hid in a perfectly good German Sub. This guy's either got salt water in his brain, ice water in his veins or this is some sort of elaborate trap.
Radioman: Captain, One of the other ships has made contact with possible enemy sub and is commencing Depth Charge run.
Captain Argon: Load Port torpedoes set charges to 10 meters, bring all guns to bear on that bottom dweller. If that Sub so much as wiggles send her to the bottom. Bring her in on their port side and get me two beers!
Lieutenant: How close sir?
Captain Argon: Beer throwing distance Lieutenant? I got to meet this guy...If he drops the beer sink him!
Lieutenant: Aye Sir
Captain Argon: Ahoy Captain! Nice catch... Come to watch the Fireworks? I take it you know who we are and consequently understand that we take no prisoners....
