Whats the hold up? zzz: I haven't paid much attention to the forums lately. I have noticed some chat about multiplayer, is this a lan tcp/ip patch that is being worked on? or are we still looking at massive mulltiplayer? Also some talk of modding and what we may be able to expect from the mod sites, like a lan tcp/it multiplayer, maybe, hopefully?

What is the latest date for the expected arrival of mass. multi.?

warfleet.net seems to beat around the bush and gives no date?

I don't have a date either I'm afraid - but the reason for the delay is primarily that the European publisher pocketed all the proceeds themselves and never paid a penny to Tesseraction Games. As you can imagine, that's a pretty sore blow for a small company to have to take. However, they are hanging in there on the proceeds from the US and Australian markets (which are through different publishers).

The first public demo of LAN based multiplayer will be at ENIGMACON in March. The plan is still Massively Multiplayer in the long run. In the meantime, there is a free feature patch to single player that is going through QA testing right now.

I dont think theres ever gunna be a MP patched released. You guys are slowly losing what following the game had. Why wasnt a MP feature included when the game was made? Who releases a game then says "oh yes um we better make a MP patch" sorry lads but thats plain crazy. Stop pissing in the wind and tell us when/whats going on.You said early Jan 2004 I paid top dollar for this game and I aint a bloody happy chappy. bash:

Aussie,

First off you must have not payed much attention to what was being said here or anywhere else or you would know that TAG has been up front with us throughout the development of Enigma.

Multiplayer is going to be a free D/L so I don't know why you would buy single player just to play Multiplayer (seems like a waste of money to me). The developers have been honest about everything that has transpired since the inception of this game (infact if you read the boards you would see that's the one point where most players of Enigma agree and are very satisfied). I think Enigma stands strong on single player (and the new patch coming out makes it that much better!). They have had some problems along the way but being an old online gammer I know thats not unusual. I want Multiplayer as bad as anyone but I also want it to be right when it comes out (not like Destroyer Command where the players had to fix the game after paying $50 for it). If you take a little time and read through the past posts you will find that TAG is a small (honest) company with a great product. They are trying to get the company to the point where they can release Multiplayer. I think that it's good enough for the majority of us who enjoy following this prodject and playing single player. Although I think you are in the minority I respect your opinion and share your eagerness for multiplayer. I do support TAG's buisness practices 100%. It's refreshing to see a small company going against the norm and releasing a quality product only after it is done. buxton:

Add to that... -The European Publisher practically choked the deveolopers by not paying them for the sales they made.

Leaving TAG with no other option that to let go of the programmers 1 by 1 while figthing the publisher in court for the missing renevues.

Also if you read about EnigmaCON, you will see that there will be a PRE MP launch at that party.

Bashing is no good when you dont know the facts ;)

I think the releasing strategy TAG used for Marketing ERT is excellent.

Releasing The Single Player 1st, then the Multiplayer later. I believe it should go smoothly if not because of the "European Publisher" issues.

It worth the wait 4 the Multiplayer. In the mean time releasing the next patch 4 the single player ASAP is good.

Just want to let you guys know that ERT is the best naval simulation ever. I enjoy playing the Single player, and cant wait 4 the multiplayer..

All in all, I support TAG all the way.
