Looking For Some Input From Those That Bought The

#1
Hi guys, obviously by the header, I'm looking for opinions on this game. I've played the demo, which puts you in the middle of the ocean with an AI partner and gives you targets to sink. I've experienced various weather from flat calm to rolling seas, clear to rain, etc. How does an actual mission play out - do you start at the docks and steam out from there or do you start out already in contact with the enemy? Are the graphics any better than in the demo, do you see actual people manning the various gun placements? The reason I ask is that I like the demo, it makes for an easy game (unlike the "hardcore" sim of Silent Hunter II) and I'd be interested hearing about what you all think about the nuts and bolts of the game play :P
(money is an issue here, I can't buy every game that catches my fancy - of all the games on my harddrive - 80% of them are demos.)

Perhaps the game makers can indicate if updates would include new graphics, more detailed (ie:people at their stations) more randomness of missions each time played, or would this sort of thing come with Rising Tide 2? I know I sound selfish, already the game's just come out and here I am "complaining". Aside from multiplay, what does the future hold? I bought Microsoft's Combat Flight Sim 3, expecting superior graphics and gameplay, only to be disappointed (Obviously, IL-2 Sturmovik is a better game), and am only trying to avoid being disappointed again. (see above where money's an issue)

Well, let's see if I can shed some light on this subject.
The game has two modes, campaign and patrol. The campaign follows a story line and the patrol just sets you out in specific missions. The missions themselves follow the same format as the demo; you don't start out at a dock but start in the location of the action, just like the demo. You get a briefing of what the mission is and the goals of that mission. I believe actual docks and the like are slated for the multiplayer version.

The graphics are the same as the demo; I think they are based on the same code build. They are very sharp with good ship models and weather effects. There are no people visibly manning the guns, and I personally have reservations about this, but that is for another time.

As for what missions are in the game and what updates are planned you'll have to get someone else to tell you. I haven't gotten that far into it yet, but I already feel like I'm going to lose a lot of sleep because of it.

I would also like to add that the dev team for Enigma is top notch. They pounce on problems quickly and really listen to the people in the community. Best PR I've ever seen with a game (way to go East and team!).

I personally think the game is a good buy. I don't know what else I can add, but feel free to ask any other questions. Any other people want to chime in here?
If you liked what you saw in the Demo then you will love the retail. It has all the same but much much more of everythin!
As far as people onboard...I personally don't mind them not being there (I'm usually too busy to notice). I believe the reason for there not being people is to get around the problems of the various game (violence) rating systems of all the Countries Enigma is being sold in.
/me quotes argon, cause I couldnt have said it better myself :)
