He,he looks like we all have similair tastes in books.

The Gunslinger series is better read in english ,and most titles are very easily order via bol.com.

Currently taken away from the fantasy books for a bit and started on some food for thought..

Impossible Physhics by Michio Kaku (check out his you tube speeches) in combination with Stephen Hawking's a Short History of time.

Mostly to keep the mind occupied on different matter.Makes for easier studying ,as I am starting a course i a few weeks. On light fiction I tend to drift off ahead of the text, reading science stuff has me pondering every few pharagraphs,as I should when I start on my studies .

i have just finished the black magician trilogy and found that i couldn't put the books down. have just finished the first book in the White series and have ordered the rest just awaiting on them to arrive.

I also recomend the bourne series by R ludlum, yes the films are good and the only point that is close to the books is the start of the first film when bourne is found, the books are better.

currently reading "The Hunt for Atlantis" by Andy McDermott. if you like action from start to finish then this could be worth a look.

You are welcome to join the discussion Mudley :)

I also read all the books in their original (so mostly english, since my french and german isn't that great :P) language. I found out that it was way better to read books in their original language once I started reading the Hitchhikers guide and terry pratchett books when I was young :) I can assure you, they are not at all funny in Dutch!

Anyway, I am not sure if it's the same in Belgium Kint, but most books you can buy very cheaply through bol.com (like 7 euro's). The library here is absolutely impossible when it comes to english books.

I have been keeping an eye on the Stephen King series, but they were still expensive when I last looked, so I'm waiting till I can afford them more easily :) (the whole series, 25 euro's a book, not fun :P) They are def on my list though.

Koren, what course are you starting? Funny how you say that you like to read complicated books now you are going to study again...I find that beside all the scientific articles and books I have to read, I like a nice fantasy book for relaxation!

By the way, for the Robin Hobb readers, the band Within Temptation made a song about the assasin books ;)

I was just listening it and it suddenly dawned on me. A little research confirmed :)

Lyrics:

The child without a name grew up to be the hand

To watch you, to shield you or kill on demand

The choice he?d made he could not comprehend

His blood a grim secret they had to command

He?s torn between his honor and the true love of his life

He prayed for both but was denied

So many dreams were broken and so much was sacrificed

Was it worth the ones we loved and had to leave behind?

So many years have past, who are the noble and the wise?

Will all our sins be justified?

The curse of his powers tormented his life

Obeying the crown was a sinister price

His soul was tortured by love and by pain

He surely would flee but the oath made him stay

He?s torn between his honor and the true love of his life

He prayed for both but was denied

So many dreams were broken and so much was sacrificed

Was it worth the ones we loved and had to leave behind?

So many years have past, who are the noble and the wise?

Will all our sins be justified?

Please forgive me for the sorrow, for leaving you in fear

For the dreams we had to silence, that?s all they?ll ever be

Still I?ll be the hand that serves you

Though you?ll not see that it is me

So many dreams were broken and so much was sacrificed

Was it worth the ones we loved and had to leave behind?

So many years have past, who are the noble and the wise?

Will all our sins be justified?
