BSS Pilots leaving the squad. Here is what I found out.

Some of you may have noticed that a few of our pilots have left the squad as of late. These pilots or I should say pilot cadets since they have not reached the rank of pilot officer, have been for a while now hanging around the USAAC team speak, where there always seems to be someone online willing to talk with them and fly with them and teach them a few things. After a while they feel like they should leave us and join them thinking that they have found something better.

This is one of the reason I beg you guys to be on Team Speak anytime you fly. Our guys pop in here all the time and leave when they don't see someone online. Just about anytime I'm online, I'm usually on team speak whether or not I'm flying.

I do not usually fly late at night, however I do sometime stay up late. Over at the USAAC TS there always seems to be someone from BBC online. A few of the pilots from BBC are from Down under in Aussie land. and Late at night makes a good time for there pilots to get together. Some of our pilots see these guys flying late at night and they join them.

BBC_Popgun came to me today after the match to talk to me about what was happening. He stated that he has asked everyone of these guys if they belonged to a squad and they tell him "NO". He told me that Goofy stated to him that he never flew with us. We all know that this was a lie.

So to help curb the mass exodus of pilots from leaving us to go to the BBC, Popgun said they will no longer accept any pilot who have flown with us. As a matter of fact if any pilot even places and application with us, they will be turned down by the BBC.

In addition to this, I have been doing some thinking about the subject which I will bring it before the BoD of the USAAC next month. I think one of the solutions would be for the USAAC to adopt a policy of not letting any pilot who leaves a squad to join another squad for at least 60 days. As for international concerns, I don't think that we have any control on that, but at least the USA based pilots would have to make some consideration before joining another squad.

At the very least, I'm going to push for a rule that would prohibit any pilot to fly league matches if they have left a squad during that league period.

Also, the BBC wishes to have us practice together splitting our team among ours to work on team skills. I think that this might be a good thing to try. We have talked about this before, but have never done anything to work towards it, till yesterdays practice.

I'm open to hear any suggestions that you guys have on the subject.

I think it's a great idea. I think the BBC boys are a very tight squad and i don't mind having them show us a thing or two.

OH.. and frankly .. if a pilot leaves the good old BSS ... I'm glad they are gone .. because:

1 They don't understand the word loyalty

2 They don't understand how much work it took to help them get TS up and working, understand how to use a forum, help getting their stick stet up right, help them understand team work, help them .. help them.. help them. Then... they turn their back on US for something "better". I don't think there is a 'better squad' then the BSS. Bye Bye.. see ya later fool.

3 On the BSS you are NOT a bench warmer .. on other squads these guy are NOT good enough to fly the 'c' squad

Never gives these guys a hard time or nasty word... just wish them the best, but for me ... I'm glad they left now instead of sometime in the future when we had even more invested in them.

There would be cases where a pilot left the BSS for other reasons .. and it could be very good reason I might even agree with .. and assist with, but when the reason is: The grass is greener on the other side. Pft!! BS.

I respect and honor my association with you guys .. you are all 1st class.

You understand being loyal to something

You stay the course

You are part of something .. special.

I don't care how good or bad you are as a pilot .. your a Bro .. and that means something to me.

I agree, loyalty is important.

and as an example, for me..i'm not leaving the BSS squad no matter what : )

it's a bit sad at first some pilots join and leave quickly

but later on when you think about it, it's better for us to let them go before we invest more effort and time on them.
