here's where i stand, im sick of people just coming into the squad for a month or so then just lay back and do nothing! I've been with BSS for close to a year now and i plan to stick it out, they've trained me up and treated me with respect, im going to stay with BSS till the end, either BSS tanks or i die.
So this is what i want to see, you will give Joker and others all the respect, your commitment and your co-operation ( unless something pops up in real life which is understandable ) otherwise leave! It's no point in having all these member and none of them fly. I've been told "Where's you mates? ur a lone sheep of all ur members?" then i just dont reply, or am forced to say " Not much of us have time to fly" then WE look stupid. I've been tempted to go to other squads but stayed because all of u r nice people and i hoped to see more members and we would one day rise to the top. So I know I will be staying and CARRYING the squads name with pride, Who else is with me?

Stay, ur doing great, u have built a nice foundation for us and WE WILL build on it. I know it's hard but just stick with it. U have my support m8! IM here to stay and am here to help. Name it and ill do it, Might be only a few pilots giving our team some commitment but with the people we have we CAN make a difference.
If you are going to stay and actually do something then im happy and you can count on me being on ur wing, if ur leaving or not going to do anything then thats to bad.

i agree ....the attendence or lack there of has been pretty poor for us in the BSS. It has always been an issue ever since i've been around ( in my opinion) . i can only remember a handful of times where we had either 100% attendence or close to it . With 26 active pilots and 2 reserves there should be no reason that only one BSS member is flying by himself at anytime. i think we've got just about every time zone covered. Its about time for another gut check!!!! Where do you stand ? why did you join the squad ? only for mathces and fun events ? just to have a BSS tag? to be a part of an Air Attack family ? WHAT ? How can we practice winging together if we arent on at the same times ? (lord knows i need it ) . we all know that attendance isnt getting any better at matches and fun events....isnt that what practice nights are for ? maybe we should get a little more strict w/ new recruits ...while on probation: they have to put in so many hours of flight time flying w/ BSS pilots and have it recorded . then once hours are completed they are put on some sort of extended probation and assigned to an active pilot, who sets up their flight schedules and logs the new recruits active flight hours. if the set active flight hours isnt met then they get dropped .....it cant be any worse than having 20 guys sign up , fly for two months and then just disappear.

When flying with Bryz this morning .. could not communicate .. what he was doing wrong.. every time. Guy is EZ to take down .. very EZ.. and EZ fix for that too.. but.. awww well.. NO COMMUNICATION.. again. Now if that had been a match .. Bryz got killed enough by me to give me a star ... so what you think the enemy is saying? "Go for Bryz.. he's ez". ..

Geeze, I must of finally struck a nerve or something. I LIKE IT!!
Also, in BryZ, defense of TS. His friend really screwed up his laptop playing a stupid practical joke. His sound card is screwed. I have tried sending him links to drivers and other software that would normally fix the problem, but none of it has. I think the sound card in his laptop is toast! He is trying to get a new PC, but there again, I'm sure he will have to wait till his parents can afford it or will allow him to get it. Otherwise, Bryz is doing a great job for the BSS. Thats why I appointed him the Young Guns leaders.
Talon, I'm glad that you spoke up too. Are you interested in being the acting XO? Keep it up Dude. I have aske Zarn to take that position but at the time he was planning on going back to school for his Masters Degree I think it was. And speaking of Zarn he is really becoming a top notch pilot. Everytime we practice together he keeps beating me. Zarn + Spit = DEATH TO ALL.
Tbar, great post dude! I think I'm going to take a hard look at the roster and think about who has really made an effort to be a real BSS squad member. I don't do a lot of recruiting myself anymore, just haven't seem a lot of guys out there that impressed me. I do agree that we need to stick to a age restriction. I also like the idea of having three officers do the interview with new pilots. Right now I'm having to rebuild my Desk top PC for the third time this year. It took 2 1/2 days to totally wipe, reformat and download Windows XP Pro back on to it. I'm going to try get it online today sometime and then download TS and Air Attack.
Hollywood, yes I'm dragging you out into the open to so everyone knows. You don't need a break from the squad because you think you are not a good pilot. My friend, you can flat out fly that GE planes. I don't know how you get that thing to turn like you do, but its awesome. Just remember what I said to you in my e-mail reply. I have to work on the same thing. I think I'll just stay out of FFA altogther, because thats where I learned my bad habit of flying alone. Maybe thats the key to fixing it all.

Firstly, thanks Tbar and Joker for your kind words about me. Its about time everyone got a bit animated and fed up with the lack of commitment to showing up for stuff.
Working out how many pilots we actually need is a good start. We seem to have too many - some I've never even seen! I say take this down to 10-15 guys who have to prove some dedication before having the priviledge of flying with us. Probation periods for new recruits, attendance records for all, past history of attending should be taken into account imo. People should earn the right to be selected to fly in matches. Lets be ruthless. It should be a challenge to become a member of this squad. If they don't shape up they can ship out! I would rather fly with three commited pilots rather than ten who don't really care.
I love being part of all this and can't understand people who sign up and fall away quickly. As soon as we find out they're not up to our standards they should be dismissed.
I really feel tht if we could have fielded our best 7 pilots regularly we could have scored points in the 2 squad. Continually blooding rookies in these events cost us so many deaths we can't compete. This is not their fault, but the lack of attendance by experienced guys. Rookies should be introduced when they are ready and not to make up our numbers imho.
I agree with Tbar - care over recruitment is crucial - lets be fussy over selection - a good "fit" in the team.
Finally, its true Joker, I'm back at Uni undertaking a Masters degree and am very busy. I can't take on extra responsibility, but I will attend practices/matches/events where needed and will help in whatever way I can. You have my total support as C/O

senior pilots show as much as they can . but when one or two cant make it, it leaves us short as a squad and having to throw our in-experienced lambs to the wolves. sure theres exceptions but for the majority its true. i feel that recruitment isnt as much an issue as having squad mates participate regulary. i mean if we have 20 new members join but out of that 20 we have 5 ( committed ) at best show for matches , fun events or even practices on a regular basis We still dont have the numbers that we should after having such a large recruitment and we are back to square one. and the large recruitment was a waste. i think its more of a .....fly your bss tag ..(show love for your squad )....wing together ( be on TS ...Never fly alone & show other squads that the BSS is alive and kickin )...
