Hi All,

This thread is in answer to a question I was asked on another board that a lot of our Blood Blades are members of, I thought it was more informative to move it to here so that all our members could read it.

This is the question knowyourrole asked in Feesch.

' hi peeps, Could anybody explain the way the guild rankings are given to people or at what point should this happen plz. Or is it possable to make your own rankings up ty. '

I'll try to answer it as best I can, if anyone has any questions please reply to this thread.

Guild rankings are unique to each guild, the guild Leader decides the rank names and the rank levels.

I inherited The Blood Blades, and didn't feel the need to change them (truth is, until a little while ago, I didn't know I could lol) . Untill TBC came out, when the levels hit 70, there wasnt a need, but now we have a rank 70, with no ranking. We have discussed this before in guild, I asked for suggestions for a new rank for level 70.

At the moment, rank levels are

0 - 9 = Minion

10 - 19 = Recruit

20 - 29 = Seeker

30 - 34 = Defender

35 - 39 = Slayer

40 - 49 = Guardian

50 - 59 = Champion

60 = Legend

Officer = Martyrdom

Guild Leader = Conqueror

I think now is the time to get things sorted for TBB rankings.

Would everyone please put suggestions in this thread as to how our guild rankings should be, (keeping in mind the next expansion level will be capped at 80) and also keeping in mind that suggestions are for the GL to take a look at and accept or dismiss, rearrange, etc.

Do we want to keep the names of the ranks the same, or do we change them, if so what to?

Lets see what we can come up with.

Thanks for the question colzy, finally got my ass in gear to actually do something about it. I hope everyone has a hand in the outcome in some way, by giving suggestions here.

well im not sure what the limit is for number of ranks but if that is the cap then may i suggest removing minion for a 70 rank. i think this because minion is such a small level range so it saves a lot of hastle making recruit 0-19. This will free up a space for the 70 range. As we have legend already maybe Crusader or Imperial for our new ranks name

Hi Guys.

I just registered and thought I'd say hello,

Yeah thats cool. I like the rankings tis good.

Just a suggestion for for new rankings you could change the 60 rank to Hero, make 70 War Hero and then when 80 comes out make that Legend.

anyways its just a suggestion lol

hey angel,

as noone was replying I thought lets give it a go ;)

One of the most common approaches to guildranks are:

guildleader

there can be only one (highlander ;) )

officer(s)

Generally the ppl doin all the stuff when the guildleader is not online (sometimes even make 2 sorts of officers so some can invite and others can't (same goes for kick/demote/promote))

Special ppl

Usually veterans of the guild who have proven to be kind loved and adored... but have no meaning being an officer. Often these are a sort of knowledge base for the young ones. Classleaders is also a good role for them. So ppl can point their questions somewhere specific concerning their class.

Ordinary ppl

Just the bulk that makes up the guild.

Probation ppl

Everyone who has just joined the guild must seem to fit in, if it doesn't ppl with this role can be kicked easily, ppl who have proven to fit in can be promoted to a full member.

Annoying ppl

Ppl with no talkright in guild, this can be handy when discussions run out of hand. You put them in this rank for 5 minutes or so and try to talk sense into them through whisper :)

Alts

Usually ppl will have a main character and several alts int he same guild, To see who's who, its handy to have mains as primary guildmember role and alts as alts.

Thats more or less your basic setup, as for names, be creative :) as long as your guild knows what they mean your set!

Now something that could work when you have multiple "leader" figures could be to have a dummy guildleader (i.e. a lvl 1 alt noone playes with) and only have officers (thats how f.i. The Shadow Rising does it I believe), kind of building a democracy. Only do this of course when you feel one leader would be bias towards the rest of the members.

Another thing is look at the rights available for ranks, I.e.: Officer chat yes/no, guildchat yes/no, invite yes/no, kick yes/no, promote yes/no demote yes/no.... etc... If you try to fit those in a rank usually certain ppl come to mind who you want to give these rights to and ppl who you do _not_ give these rights to, right there you have your first 2 groups ;)

well goodluck with sorting it out, specifically the rights and all...

ohw one more thing, you will probably have a guildbank and you'll need to devide access to it ;) also keep that in mind while making the roles/ranks.

cheerz,

yorga's ideas are great. it seems to me that the level set ranks are kind of pointless. For instance Chodboy he's leveling so fast you have to promote him every 3 days lol. But as he gains a rank, he gains nothing. he cant change guild notes etc so whats the point. (sorry im not meaning to seem rude). Maybe be a idea to try that and give the officers right to decide what goes on in guild like that democray idea but everyone could be a bit tidious to do.

for guild names perhaps our current guild names in latin? could be a interesting

defender = defendere ok thats boring maybe something different to latin lol
