Hi Everyone

I know this may not be the place I need to post this but since I am not able to be at the Bod meeting I wanted you all to look this over. Please let me know what you think of it good or bad.

Thank you,

Last Team Standing League

Rules:

Last Team Standing League is sponsored by the USAAC and adheres to all COC of the AA and the USAAC.

General

Last Team Standing will be played on the 1.5 short tactical map, and squads will fly GB and US with all planes available. There will be no altitude limit and the map limit is base-to-base square. Players going outside the map limit will result in an immediate loss of the round. All players must engage.

A match will consist of 4 rounds and the scoring will be one point for the last team standing after each round. With one extra point awarded for the overall winning squad. If in a match both teams win 2 rounds a 5th round will be flown to determine the overall winner.

Referee will give the scramble command and both teams will take off and grab for altitude. After 2 minutes the ref will announce the engage command, all planes must engage. Planes visibly not engaging will be counted as dead and must crash. Once you are dead you must not take off, wait for the next round. You may take off if you have collided or crashed up to 30 seconds after scramble, if over the 30 seconds you must sit and wait until the next round.

A maximum of the first 6 spaces will be allowed for squad identification and the rest for pilot identification. You may use letters, numbers or combination of letters and numbers for this identification. (Example) FD_P, USHA_P4, Tigers_G9, etc?

All pilot tags will be registered with the USAAC League Manager and will be the C/Os responsibility to make sure all pilots are registered. If not then these pilots will not be able to see the arenas, or will not be allowed to fly.

To encourage the use of identifiable tags the squad that flies with such tags will be awarded one extra point. (Example), FD_Skydancer, USHA_Popgun, Tigers_Nemo, etc.. At the end of the league points will be added and 1st, 2nd , and 3rd places will be announced.

Hi M8,

The reason I went with that map was to keep it in the spirt of old FA 1.5 LTS. Also it allows the players to get some alt and still have some manuvering room before engaging.

We will be having a test match to see how this works, if it does not work well we can always go back to the standard map.

Take Care M8,

Nice work sky.

The only thing I see that might be a problem is the extra point for the overall win.

The better teams would walk away from the others.

Example.

PT vs JW

JW wins the match with 3 points plus 1 point for overall.

PT gets 1 point.

JW goes on to win its next match 4-0 plus 1 overall point.

JW now has 9 points. in 2 matches.

Meantime PT loses its next match 1 to 3

Pt now has 2 points in 2 matches.

2 points vs 9 points in 2 matches.

It is hard enough for PT as it is , now they have no chance of catching up.

I dont think its really needed.

However it can work well in a close call where the extra point might break a tie.

or pull a team into 1st place by one overall point.

The good and the bad.

The 1.5 map is really no larger then a standard map with a 2 square map limit.

In fact If you look at its smaller.

Standard map with a 2 square map limit is 6 squares across, 1.5 inside the bases is 3 squares across. 1.5 is four squares diagnal, gb to us or su to ge

It is actually a smaller player field than standard with a 2 square.

Standard map with 1 one square limit is 4 squares across.

The 1.5 map is 3 and is more scenic.

The LTS fun event is 8 rounds with the same size playing field.

and no time limit to climb.

So with a 4 round match we may have time to go 5 to 7 rounds.

on a 1.5

sky wants to test it out in a friendly.

Lets do it.

I suspect you will get some disagreement on this one... ;)

Every CO and STAFF member of the USAAC has an opportunity to read the rules here .. before it goes public. Each has opportunity for input. So if there are any objections they should be discussed now and here. We will then know where each CO Stands .. a vote will be taken on any given issue .. then the rules will be 'sanctioned' by USAAC. At this point if a given Squad can't or won't conform .. they simply won't sign up, no further explanation or discussion needed.

2nd pass .. and more thinking.

Screw that 1 point extra :) The rules will be the rules, lets not award extra point for anything... just give points for kills and what is really earned.

Sky,..... a couple things:

1) No alt limit? All players must engage? So after 2 minutes all must engage? Does engage mean the same to all? Can you grab to them, to engage? Can you have 4 go in and two keep grabbin?

2) "To encourage the use of identifiable tags" This needs to be mandated....
