Hi Kids
Heres my 2 cents worth.
1st I am going to pull some stuff from the past.
Back in the days of 1.5 fighter ace, We would fly all the pilots that showed up
If it was 5 against 10 that was tough.
What good is it to have a large squad if you only fly 6.
And matches were flown LTS format.
I say we fly all who show up. If this means you need to recruit more pilots so be it.
Some squads have only 6 to 10 pilots because they only want the best.
Thus leaving out pilots that would like to join a squad but cant because no one is recruting.
(Tags) why not have different tags. I feel that it keeps the playing field even.
In a real dogfight you just kill the enemy. he doesnt have a tag...
These are my thoughts for ( future) changes. Leave the rules in place for now and finish this set of 2 squad.

Thank you Temper!
SALUTE M8s
I understand Temper. Let's not start any WARs. I agree that this is a discussion regarding future RULE changes. Sorry.
A response to POPs point of view, that we fly everyone has always been the primary goal, however with the way the Team Matches are arranged for teams to WIN, you always are going to have plans developing within Teams in those matches to go out and WIN with their best pilots at that time. So, if that team want to fly a certain number of pilots in those matches, it should be no problem.
To pressure TEAMS to go out and recruit other pilots is certainly harder to do in this game at this time compared to the 1.5 days where you had hundreds of pilots to recruit from.
This is my point of view,
Salute!

It isn?t easy to say something about the topic, without fingerpointing at anyone. Let?s try our best because we?re all in the same boat and noone is innocent, no matter who started what. I for one never thought that Rb will use match-tags. We used to fly with our Rb_Tulla, Rb_Seeto, Rb_Kara etc. - tags for ages and I always thought it is laughable and going way too far what WS, followed by TS and FD are doing but it really is a big disadvantage for your opponents, if they don?t know who is who. And since nobody seemed to care, we jumped into the same boat. Still, I don?t like it but don?t want my squad having a disadvantage.
If it becomes a straight rule in future leagues that we have to use recognisable tags (back to Rb_Tulla and such), I?ll happily change again. I would definitely support such a rule.
@Action: I guess you misunderstood the part with the different numbers of pilots in each half, which why I?ll explain it:
Assuming both squads winning their GE-halfs, both squads will receive 1 leaguepoint each. Overall-ratio decides, when it comes to the 3rd leaguepoint. Now assume you have more BF-109 k?s available in your GE half, as your opponents had before in their GE-half. (was a 6vs6 in 1st half, now in 2nd half it?s a 8vs8 because of 2 latecomers and the other squad had 2 sitting anyway)
Which squad do you think would score higher and therefore winning the 3rd leaguepoint for overall-ratio to 90% of all cases ?
Back in the time it happened often coincidental. Nowadays certain squads tend to force such a situation fully purposely by leaving 2 or more of their pilots out in their GB half.
You?re right when you say the best pilots shall fly in each half but not this way.
And this is also how it all started. As Noodles mentioned above, WS had rookies sit on US. (whether they wanted - or had to sit, due to lack of skill, we?ll never know)
And there comes another thought into consideration: there are squads which recruiting only well skilled pilots or at least experienced pilots, there are other squads, supporting the game by recruiting preferably rookies and last but not least there are squads which recruiting them all, regardless their skill. Then again there are squads with rooks in it but these rooks are not allowed to fly, when it come to ?important? matches.
I think this should be also considered within the rules: something like squads with rooks flying, receiving 10+ kills per rookie in advance. (only an example)
This would support the game, the rooks and the leagues pretty much and prevents from such dishonourable tactics. (at least until the next sick brain figures out, how to avoid or to adjust to such a rule)

Again. KAA was 10 i think in mid air and this AA is 12 characters. What are we suppose to do? Wings are used to serperate Americans from Europeans in our squad. Alpha/Beta/Gamma = Europe, Delta Omega = US + any other really far apart timezone. I see no advantage of using tags that are listed, if you can see them in game. TS are the squad who went the step further and hid any form of name/letter/ from the in air tag. They are not the first either to do so. Think BAD done it, Dragons, thorn i think and prob others, some of ws even done it for 1 SNL if i recall. And if you think WS were the 1st? Then you really don't watch the game, most of TS were part of many others squads as were FD before hand =)tags for ages and I always thought it is laughable and going way too far what WS, followed by TS and FD are doing

I don't think the tags are the problem as long as they are submitted, say 1 month before the start? No tag changes allowed during the season.
But disallow any squad who can not at least put two letters/numbers in
Why ?But disallow any squad who can not at least put two letters/numbers in
I think we don?t need to split hairs about whether WS or TS were the first (inventors) and whoms match-tags are more annoying. When discussing such issues, we need to look at it in a general way, to avoid flaming.
While these [WARSHIPS]_ - and [-TERROR-]_ - tags are really impossible to tell apart (even for themselves, I guess), also the tags with a combination of letters and numbers are hardly to remember as long as there isn?t a recogniseable system. It might is possible with only one squad using such tags and one day you?ll get used to it but the more squads using such tags it becomes also close to impossible to tell all these numbers and letters apart. Must have to do with the laziness of the human brain or the laziness of the AA?ers brain.
Using aliases always was a way for AA?ers to win the trick on an equal or superior opponent. But hiding the true identity isn?t very sporting, if not even unsporting. When we fight known superior opponents, we?re capable to adapt to their flight-styles, to learn their moves etc. But all this ?learning? and ?calculating?/ ?figuring? becomes useless, when you don?t know who and where your opponent is. I for one don?t know any sports in real life, where competitors hiding their identities, in order to get an advantage, which why I think we shouldn?t use any aliases within official league-competitions, no matter they?re listed anywhere or not.
The longer we discuss these 2 issues, the more I think the above is the way to go.2 straight rules:
1.) A squad (all its pilots) must fly a recognizable (known) tag during League events.
2.) Squads have to fly with the same amount of pilots in both halves.
Unlucky for latecomers but that?s life.
Unfortunately......
Changing rules for competitions really isn?t a big deal. No rules of any sports were finally in its 1st version and rules always changed over the years, in order to prevent the use of unfair and unsporting tactics.
And though it?s not part of the topic, I would like to extend the discussion even further:
The hard and mercyless pin:
Which means attacking planes which have just taken off, within AA or in middle of the runway because the aa-guns are rather inefficient in this sector. More and more squads adapting to this rude tactic.
Anyone remember the koreans saying. ?Open Sky, pls??
I think they really knew what they were talking about. Such a pinning-style should be forbidden by rules. It is frustrating and also takes alot of fun away. If I would be a rook, I?d quit playing at the latest after the 2nd pin in such a way.
Oh yes, it takes some skill to do such a pin, I know. But runwaying takes also some skill and skill does not justify everything. And pls don?t come up with the usual ?It?s war and war justifies everything?- blahblahblah.
It?s not war. It?s our leisure activity in a sporting way.

We do if your above post said WS were the first....Would not of been TS, as i said, that was invented many many years ago.I think we don?t need to split hairs about whether WS or TS were the first (inventors) and whoms match-tags are more annoying. Same pilots each half would be the better rule, but sometimes people really need to leave. Then it's harsh if they get penalized for that. The rule in place for the numbers is fine, a change in this rule will only bring arise to new problems. Its impossible to tell if someone is lieing about having to leave early or running late.
"My" propsed rule changes would involve:
- -4 points for a enemy pilot to die in a non-enemies base. If GE vs GB, and a GE runs to die in SU AA to avoid dieing by GB, then -5 points should be deducted from the team + 1 for the other team. I split 4 and 1, just in case it involves the first kill, otherwise people may use it to avoid first kill.
- Limit the Squad tags to 10 Characters and Use Names, as i pressume no one wants the letters, e.g [WARSHIPS]Madman, Rebellion_Tulla, [Dragons]Dei
- Minimum 6 per half, but if they fly 7 one half, they have to fly 7 second half if available. Then you'd need to take the word of C/o's that somone has not just quit to avoid the 7v7 on the following half.

That for the league, to enfore a no pin rule? Don't think that should be put in. You then have the hard line to draw where the hard pin actually starts and how far to back off, do you still keep alt advantage?
In a worse case scenerio, that could end up in 10mins grabbing, 5mins fighting, 10mins to regrab then 5mins fighting. That would make the games very choppy. Getting pinned sucks, BUT if its a close game, or your behind with a short time remaining, thats the only option, and think its a bit unfair, if your team eventually gets the upper hand, they cannot utlise it withing the limits of the rules.
For open teams:
Enforce there like its on FFA, can't shoot a place whos just taken off.
Squad games as Sandman said above, is just more then open teams, it involves tactics. Otherwise why have 2xsquad, why not just have a mass team event each sunday instead.
Personally i'd be amazed if people agree with enforince the no pin tactic tulla, no "dig", just find thats poiting the games towards point of why even have a squad. Maybe next there would be an alt limit, or ban the GB starburst (Blame Elite).
