I have to agree with Flt93_LetsRoll. I always have to re-log on everytime i come here. Its a big pain. I had it fixed once before I format my computer, but i am not going to try and figure it out again. Also if you want to see the league results, you always have to go thru 6 steps before you finally able to read the results. And once you read them, and want to go back to main USA Air Attack forum, and if you not carefull, you will in up in the TIDES OF WAR main forums. Which then you are lost, and have to go back to main USA Air Attack site and then click on forums, just to get back to US Air Attack forums. Its nothing but a big pain in the butt. I feel sorry for the new players, because they would have worst time then me. It just not user friendly at all. Thats why I rarely read or post here anymore.
thanks,
Nitro

Is this the Tbar bashing thread?? I'm in!!!!!

I for one can't see what is so confusing about this fourm site. I just bookmark the forums and when I want to view them I go straight to the main fourm page. You can look at all of the areas without being logged in but I must be lucky for I do not have to do that each time.
I think the forums look great and a big salute to Tbar and the USAAC Staff!!
Take Care All,

Nope, Temper this not a TBar trashing post. I never said Tbar's name once. And Sky Dancer, not sure what brought on that wonderful speech about you saying Tbar doing a great job. LOL And I know TBAR doing a good job, my complain wasn't against him. Repeat, This not about Tbar, Repeat this not about Tbar, Repeat this not about Tbar. LOL Its about the style of the forum and the way its set up. Many others feel the same as i do, but they stop visiting long time away, because its not user friendly.
EDIT:
For crying out loud!!!! I just tried to edit my own reply just now, and every dang time i try to do it. It keep asking me to log in, and once i did, it keep taking to me the main Tides of War Forums. And then I finally made it back to my post, and then it ask me again to log in!!! Then it took me back to the main Tides of War Forums. I was going back and forth logging in, and finally i was able to edit this reply!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks,

Nitro, I use Firefox for a browser. I have a shortcut to these forums. I click it, login, then click "view new posts". After I read a thread, I use the back button. If I reply I still use the back button.
I only have to login if I delete my cookies.
Maybe Firefox will work better for you.

Hey Nitro,
Long time , no see.
I've got to say the same I also use Firefox and I have not problems unless I clear out my cookies and internet history and such. I do this a couple of times a week. As far as having to log in and stuff the only place I have to do this is the CLP.
Maybe your still one of only two people in the world using IE7 . Just kidding, IE is good stuff for some just not for me. I'm definitely sold on Firefox.
Anyway, I getting myself confused, and I have enough trouble just trying to find the ignition for my plane so I can insert the key and start flying. By the way, in flight movie tonite will be Flying Leathernecks, Featuring John Wayne. Dinner will be served on this flight, you can have your choice of a grilled chicken breast with rice pilaf and mashed broccoli, or Salisbury steak with whipped potatoes and candied carrots. For beverages you may have ice tea, soda or coffee. I didn't bring desert so you'll have to make due with what you have.

It's not the forum, it's your settings and the way you use it.. It is a simple forum to naviagate around and use, I have never had a problem with it at all.. You should not be challenging the forum, but trying to sort our your own internet settings and your navigational skills.. It isn't hard. Its about the style of the forum and the way its set up. Many others feel the same as i do, but they stop visiting long time away, because its not user friendly.

If I?m allowed to add my 2p:
I had my problems with the cookies of this site too. And if you have these problems, it is exactly the way Nitro described. One is not lost but it takes a while. The ?style? is great, I think but even when you?ve sorted out the ?cookie?- problem, browsing through these boards isn?t convenient.
As Temper already stated, you have to use the ?browser back?- button alot and this is probably because this site has so many ?departments? with lots of sub- forums. I guess the original idea was to keep a certain order and a good overview, which is a good thing. I myself am a big fan of properly sorted boards but it can easily going over the top, if you create for each topic an independent forum, especially when it?s not easy to navigate through these single sub - forums.
We had (...and still have somehow) similar issues over at TAA forums, which why we merged already some boards and deleted others and still it seems to be too much but then again, it is easier to navigate through the TAA boards because of certain features like f.e. ?go to the top? - / ?go to bottom? - arrows in each single posting, to avoid scrolling for ages or ?jump to board XXX? - dropdown - menues at the bottom of each single site or flashing - or coloured icons for unread posts on the mainpage, on the pertinent subforum and in front of each single topic, which contains unread posts.
This site(s) having alot of these features too but they?re either totally hidden or at least not eye-catching.
Now I must admit, there was a time TANK invested alot of free time and was busy with implementing certain ?hacks? and features to the TAA-forums, in order to make them user friendlier. Not everyone has that much time on hands and not everyone is that familiar with hacks and features.
There was a time I thought the AA - board(s) over at the UKAAC wasn?t/ weren?t very good sorted. They recently added a board for non AA - related topics and it seems to be already well. Apart from the other game-forums, there is - in regard to AirAttack - only a board for AA - related topics and a board for non - AA related topics and it works a treat. But then again we all know the brits are more disciplined. Only have a look at them, when they?re entering a bus: there is no jostle, noone pushes or presses others to be the 1st or leading, who enters the bus. This isn?t the case in the US and also not in Germany and that is why we have to ?direct?users into certain subforums for writing about certain topics and to keep a certain order. Otherwise they would post jokes on the admin-boards, admin-issues on the OT-boards etc. pp. But if you create a labyrinth it wont become easier and more properly. The opposite is the case. It causes also additional work for the mods.
2 boards only wouldn?t work for yanks or germs but sometimes less is more.
P.S. this wasn?t a ?Tbar?- bash, nor was it a USAAC hostility. This is constructive criticism. I had similar thoughts for the TAA - boards month?/ years back and I understand where Nitro is coming from. Not everything he posts is dumb or redundant. You need to find the ?constructive? within his rants at times.
P.P.S. what is the difference between a ?quick edit? and a ?full edit? ?
