Welcome to the Black Sheep Gun Slinger and Hang. Always happy to see new faces among us.
We look forward to whipping you in to shape and try to make fine pilots out of the both of you.
For your first order of duty, you may notice that we have 4 runways in out very fine game of air attack.
There is a pretty green on which belongs to the British, a very nice brilliant red one which belongs to our allies the Soviets, of course we have our bright yellow United States base, and then there is the very pretty bright pink runway (Some people call it purple, but real men know that it is really pink.) which belongs to the Germans.
Well as all these runways get used quite often, your task is to FOD walk each runway with all of the new members of each squad. (You don't know what a FOD walk is??? Well FOD stands for Foreign Object Damage. Little pieces of trash, parts, nuts, bolts, shell casings and what have you that fall off of all of our airplanes. ) Well these pieces and part as you can probably tell can do huge amounts of damage to airplanes when landing and taking off. So we need you guys to walk the entire length of each runway shoulder to shoulder and pick up any FOD you seeing laying on the ground.
Now I'm not really sure how many new pilots there are that joined at the same time you did, but if there are only two of you and our runways are about 10,000 feet each and about 1,000 feet wide. Well it might take and entire day for you guys just to walk one runway. So if you want that weekend pass you'd better get a move on and get'er done!
