Death Angels Is No More

I was waiting for Deathstares comments before posting this, but i think bate is right in his post, people need an explanation, especially those who weren't online yesterday (I am sure DS and others involved will continue this thread).

So Death Angels is no more. The guild has been disbanded. I joined Death Angels on my wow day number 2. It has offered me friendship, help and ?home? I thought impossible in game. I miss it already and I thank you all for being such good friends in the time gone past.

In this post I try to explain at least some of the reason why we arrived to such a harsh decision to disband Death Angels. All the reasons presented are my personal interpretations of the situation, but I believe that they are shared by other guardians and at least partly also by many of the other long term DA members. Feel free to flame, disagree or agree. I am writing this after particularly ill slept night, so sorry about all the typos and poorly presented thoughts.

Firstly I must apologize to Deathstare about what happened yesterday. Several of the guilds guardians were in mc yesterday night and could only poorly take part in the chat that erupted after DS announcement to disband guild. This led to DS practically alone getting responsibility and hate for that action. It also led to lots of confusion and people not getting the answers in guild chat they deserved. I apologize for that. I must emphasize that the disbanding of Death Angels was decision made jointly and unanimously by guild master and all the guardians.

During the last months several long term experienced guild members left or expressed in private conversations that they seriously considered leaving. DS called together an ?emergency? meeting between gm and the guardians. During that it became evident that also practically all of the guardians were considering leaving Death Angels or at least stepping down and that DS had consider leaving/disbanding guild for quite a while. It should be noted that DS offered to step down, but all guardians present declined to take the GMs seat.

I think that behind these thoughts and or decisions to leave are/were several reasons.

Large and growing part of the guild was interested mainly in raiding large 40 man instances. This was something that DA or Tribes has not been able to offer and quite many members have lost faith them ever succeeding in that. This has been evident in continuing outflow of experienced level 60?s to other raid guilds or coalitions. Several people only hung into DA as long as they did only because they wanted stay loyal to the guild or had some friends there, even though they didn?t really enjoy playing in it anymore.

There has been also a diminishing or a loss of the old helpful and friendly DA spirit (like practically total disappearance of free guild trades). This is at least partly due to lots of new people coming in while oldies have left. Instead of one guild we seemed to have mixed collection of people who formed their own ?cliques?. I personally didn?t know half of the people in guild and only superficially many of the rest.

There was also some what bad mood in some of the coalition raids and also in other groups, which was starting to give Death Angels a bad name. Not anymore the nicest guild on Thunderhorn, but one which has people who aggressively flame others in raids and groups etc. This was probably due to people getting frustrated in the slow progress in raiding.

Together in those ?emergency meetings? we decided that it would be best for Death Angels and its members if we would give the guild a ?clean and honourable end?, instead of decline where people would drift in and drift out at increasing speed. Feral Instinct and Silent Killers offer a good home for ex-Death Angels and this will hopefully make tribes stronger raiding group now that more of the people belong to the same guilds. By disbanding the guild we also hoped in a sense to set people free. Hopefully those that seek their fortunes elsewhere, outside Tribes, also find their luck.

Personally I will probably join/form a small new guild that lets me raid with my mc raiding coalition while offering me a ?home? (possibly within tribes, as it would make it easier to stay in touch with old friends).

I hope I will see all of you in future and as friends. You are always most welcome to /w me if you need help, healer or just want to chat.

Godspeed

Have added a note to 'guildstuff' bank post

I was in MC last night - so, as has been said, it was impossible really to follow any officer/guild chat or take part - apologies for that.

Wishing everyone all the best - and much /hugs to all - don't think of it as 'the end' - but a new beginning for us all and new paths to choose and adventures to take - I hope we share some in the coming months :)

This couldn't have been on a worse time for tribes, since we finally hit the 40 for MC. I really hope the people in DA that love going with tribes and are ready to make a MC group will stay, and possible consider joining one of the coal guilds.

For the rest...well...I have some troubles with my back so I'm not willing to pull me down even more. I'm disseapointed but we'll live and I hope to see you all in game still.

I am sorry lisz and I truly wish Tribes the best of luck in MC and hope this wont affect it too much.

Because of this I hope that tribes will lets those committed to its raids continue in the raidgroup no matter what their guild (this is now Buxtons/Korens/Eidokars etc decision) and/or that people interested in raiding with tribes will join FI or Silent killers.

Unfortunately the 'last drop in the overflowing chalice' of reasons behind the decision to disband was the information that several DA members were going to leave tribes (and probably also DA) and apply to a big raid guild. So there probably will be some who wont raid with tribes anymore, but they would have left anyways.

I hope that in the long run this will make tribes stronger and maybe pushes it towards being a raid coalition of committed people (no matter what their guild is), instead of beight a small group of committed people plus a fuzzy group of semi-committed people in number of different guilds (I believe that the membership/commitment to a raid group should be personal, not guild based).

I think its fecking nice to see that the DA disband didn?t effect the Tribes Raid Group in numbers. Full MC and ZG on every raid night. But then again why should it have any effect?, DA went from 60-70% of the raid spots at the beginning of the year to more like 20-30% over the last couple of month, and the 20-30% raiders joined FI(good choise btw) and is still participating in the raids. I think Lostsoul is right that the raidgroup will be much stronger if you get bigger and fewer guilds in the coalition. The best of luck to the Tribes Raid in the future, its damn nice to see so many new peoples signing up. I?m sure your gonna make big progress in the next couple of month. MC is very important to maintain(don?t ask my why :P ) and I think it will secure the same raidgroup for a looong time and even get many new players to join.

From my own point of view the break up meant that i got fuc.. bored to play with my alt, and haven?t been playing that at all. Bate is just used for raid atm (2-3 times a week), and I made a decision to give my old alliance warrior a try and start over again on ubrs,zg,aq, strat. I been playing ally for about a week now and starting to enjoy it...that?s bad Image . Could any1 plz suggest some fun activities on the horde side so that I?m not gonna get to serious with our ugly neighbours

Take care all...
