It would seem WoW has been taken over by a certain Undead Warrior that happens to be called Smike, and I really have nothing better to do... So I thought I'd share with you who I am, and how I came to WoW.
Where to start? At the beggining I guess
Lets skip a few years.
I was proabably about 9 when I went to a friend of the family's place. There was a kid that I grew up with that was a few years older than me, but it wasn't that bad. Anyway, his dad gave him this game called Tiberium Sun once apon a time, but he thought it was all gay like and gave it to me.
It was magic.
It was part of a series called Command and Conquer, some of you might have heard of it, it was a big selling RTS of its time, curiously it perked up at 1995. (RtS meaning Real-Time Strategy, basically war game). This kept me entertained for hours at a time. Then probs when I was about 10, I discovered this thing called Google... as you do as a 10 year old, I was searching for cheats on them when i discovered - there was a whole franchise of this game!
I won't go on about it much. I got a more recent piece of the franchise and worshipped it - got into the community, didn't fit in too well becuase of my age. Still, I percievered. Met a nice 15-year old who taught me the basics of the game structure. I joined his mod team (basically, we changed the game from the inside. made added new tanks etc.) I was the AI editor. At about eleven. Yep, I enhanced and changed the AI (the way the enemy reacted, and attacked) at a very young age. I became more or less known in the community - though that might of been since it was getting smaller. The game was getting very old and we were losing members. The original creaters called Westwood, were bought out by EA and later disbanded.
After a while I lost interest in the game and said goodbye to many friends. I still regularly talk to them on MSN, but not in person as most of them were not in England. Funnily, the same community had quite an active graphics forum, where I learnt the basics of Photoshop - the best photo editor in the world. I had lots of good tutors. Thats my story of how I learn how games work, learnt more than 98% of the world knew - and my graphic skills took me to know more than over 99.9% of the world population does.
And now this was about the time Warcraft came into my life. At about 12. My step-brother was babbling to his dad about this cool game his cousin had called World of Warcraft. He got him the game the next christmas, and found out in the process there were other Warcraft games that were RTS. he got the WCIII and the expansion, and it was fantastic. I never quite went as far as getting into a modding community, but it was darn fun. Anyway, I needed more, so I also played WoW. I started as a Dwarf Hunter, nooby as I was, and took my about 4 months to get him to level 26. I deleted him after that and made an UD mage. loved it. Plucked the name out of thin air, too
So now I recently turned lvl 56 and It was my birthday 2 or 3 months ago. Which makes me 13. BOO!
Thanks for reading - or skim reading as that's what i'd do.
Righto then, laters!
EDIT: Hehe, that took me to 100 posts
