Trouble With Microphone

Guys,

I cannot get my Voice commands to work at all on Enigma: Rising Tide. Can someone perhaps steer me in the right direction to fix this problem. I have listed all information that may help with this issue for possible diagnosis:

OS: Windows 98 with latest Service Pack

1.8 GHZ processor 256MB RAM

256MB NVIDIA OverClocked Video Card (came that way)

40GB Hard Drive

This is the only issue that I'm Having with Enigma. I really enjoy the game but have not played it since I cannot use the mic; I cannot click fast enough or accurately enough to keep up. Please Help if anyone can. Thanks in advance for any help or guidance.

No dice on this fix....even pulled SAPI off and re-loaded it as well as uninstall/re-intstall of the game. Any other ideas? I checked the mic and it shows to work thru diagnostics.

Ok so it works when you are training your speech profile right?

but it fails to init in E:RT when you click on Test Mic... in the preference?

Have you tried playing E:RT with your microphone anyways? (a player once reported that his mic worked even the init failed).

Yes. The speech profile works fine, but when the mic fails to initialize on the preferences and it does not work when I try to use it. I have gone thru 3 separate mics and re-loaded the game twice. Dunno what else to do.

hmm im puzzled, there is nothing special to it at all, I wonder if East has a clue...

still have not figured it out on my end, any guesses?

Still no dice on this issue....does anyone have any ideas on something else I could try?
