OK. This turned out be be simpler than I thought.

At the start of the mission, the 2 other RNE subs are too close for comfort. Best for all of us to spread out a little.

I reversed flank and made sure my bow was aimed in the direction of the leading DE in the DESRON.

When the DESRON started literally lining up and the other RNE subs began hitting them with fish, I shifted to ahead flank, pivoting from port to startboard and back again, retaining my bow's position facing the lead or 2nd DE.

One of the other RNE subs sank a DE. At around this time, the 2nd DE in line turned towards me. When it was relatively close, I spread around 4 fish in its direction, watched at least one hit and did a quick dive to 200, and hard to port to go under the approaching DE.

When I thought it was safe to make a fast surface to periscope depth, I did so, being hit by only one charge on the way up. Through my scope I saw that I was inside the circle the DE's had made around me and another RNE sub. The 2nd RNE sub went below hull depth and was crushed.

Staying at flank all time, I pivoted to whichever side afforded me my next target, whether with fore or aft tubes. Occassionally I had to duck below surface when a DE would launch a fish at me but then I would head right back to periscope depth and fire when a DE was in just the right position.

At some point there were 2 DEs left circling very slow next to one another and another isolated DE circling more off in the distance. I headed straight towards the latter at flank, leaving the other 2 behind at a safe distance for the finale.

After approaching close and sinking the DE in front of me, I pivoted towards the remaining two, who were patrolling in parallel. I sunk the one closest to me and then headed straight towards the last DE, which I sank a few moments later.

12:10:05 - Destroyed DE39 with a torpedo NNE at 115 meters.

12:10:22 - Destroyed DE37 with a torpedo NE at 650 meters.

12:14:17 - Mission completed at 33.50.42N, 70.42.56W

Planes Destroyed: 0

Well done, Undaunted. RNEF West is very pleased at your report. Sounds as if we're ready to give the Americans a battle on their own territory if necessary.

How exactly do you get your allied subs to go under?!? Just ran through this about 5 times, and every time my two allied subs were sunk by deck guns because they're too d*** stupid to dive. >;( With my terrible sub skills (if you couldn't tell by my screen name, I'm a surface dweller) I can't take on all 4 DEs and 2 DDs. :(

Its a hard mission.

All the #4 missions are hard on the sub camp's.

But you just need to sink the DD's infact i think sinking 2 of them wins the mission, but i dont remember exactly.

A tip:

Dont dive deeper than 20 and dive only when you hear the torpedo bell (unless of course you are bout to be rammed)

1 more:

use flank speed and pivot constantly
