TD that only leads us to a password screen? Is there a mistake on that screen?

3. While on the downwind leg, pick the spot on the runway where you intend to land. As you are abeam that spot, reduce power and lower one notch of flaps.
Wait until the end of the runway appears at your 7 o'clock.
(This means that the runway is on your port(left)side.)
4. Turning base - This will be a 90 degree turn.
(This would be a 90 degree turn to port(left)since the runway is on the left.)
Ideally, the runway should be at about 1 o'clock. Begin your turn to final when the runway appears at your 2 o'clock .
(How can this be. With the runway at my left it should be at my 11 o'clock and not my 1 o'clock.)

~S` Sir,
I also received your e-mail stating this and we have passed it on to the IL2 School Coordinator and Basic Flight School Coordinator to have it fixed in the near future. Thank you for the observation.

FLIGHT PATTERN TUTORIAL
WRITTEN BY JOE PUNDZAK aka 66th Macallan

YOU MUST KNOW THIS AND USE THIS AT ALL TIMES!!!
1. The secret to a good landing is establishing a good approach.
2. Accepted norm is to set up a pattern altitude of 300 meters above the field elevation, i.e., 300 meters AGL. If the pilot doesn't know the elevation of the field, he should ask ATC. Otherwise, it's a good idea for him to know the elevations before he launches.
3. While on the downwind leg, pick the spot on the runway where you intend to land. As you are abeam that spot, reduce power and lower one notch of flaps.
(the possible exception may be those aircraft that dump 100% flap like the Spit)Check your position in relationship to the runway before you initiate your right turn to the base leg. Wait until the end of the runway appears at your 7 o'clock.
4. Turning base - This will be a 90 degree turn. Make your radio call, reduce power and lower another notch of flaps as necessary. Remember, pitch controls airspeed and power is altitude. Your situational awareness is important here ... as you begin your descent... keep your eye out for other traffic and monitor your position relative to the runway. Ideally, the runway should be at about 1 o'clock. Begin your turn to final when the runway appears at your 2 o'clock ... wait too long and you'll end up course correcting back to the final approach course.
5. Turning final - Radio call and final cross check. Gear down, flaps as required and set power to deliver a descent rate of 150 meters per minute. Pick your spot and land.
6. If you landed at proper approach speed, 1.5 X Stall, your rollout will not be long. Clear the runway ASAP and advise traffic that you are clear of the active.

~S~ Gentlemen,
The Joint Ops Basic Flight School has been created to help the new to average flight sim pilot improve in their overall gaming capability online. JO has some great people who volunteer their time each and everyweek for other people to improve on their game over all, hence the schools first training step for students, "BFS". If you enroll into the program as a student, just enjoy whats provided and take that away to improve your game.
