I was sent in the direction of http://forum.tidesofwar.net/index.php?showtopic=2723&hl=

by Theta Sigma on these forums as my game reboots my whole system anout 20 seconds into play.

When reading this link i noticed that there is an issue with the card that i use as named above.

Does anyone know of any remedy to this without having to purchase a new card as i am not due to get a new card untill the end of this month and i have no patience to wait that long as i have already been waiting about 2 years to get my hans on this game out here in Malta.

Any help or advise would be greatly apprecieted.

As a last resort I'd try different video drivers. Nvidia keeps them all on this page (for Windows XP/2000)-

There is no temp fix for that bug with the MX card. However it may not be the videocard that kills ERT.

Start by listing all your hardware and driver versions

Try lower the soundhardware acceleration in DXDiag (see PINNED checklist for how to)

Disable your Antivirus tools

Defrag your System

start with that

okay first things first.

Your videocard driver version can be found here: Start->Printers&Settings->Control Panel->System->Hardware and click on Device Manager, expand the videocard menu item and double click on the videocard in the new windo that shows click on the driver tab, there is a version number there.

The latest version from http://www.nvidia.com is

ForceWare Release 80

Version: 81.98

Release Date: February 7, 2006

If you have not downloaded and installed that package you should do so, cause then you most likely have an older driver version.

While you are in the device manager, expand the audio/game controllers menu item and tell us what soundcard you have and what driver version too.

Since you are asking for technical support I would assume that you have read some topics in The EngineRoom or tried The search button ;)Image

A pinned topic looks like this Pinned: Check List & Faq in the forums, and are alway located at the top of the forums along with announcements. Please read this url just above, it has many good suggestions and such.

DXDiag is a little program that comes with DirectX which you should also make sure that your have the latest version of. You an access it by clicking Start->run and type dxdiag and press enter/ok.

In DXD. make sure that run run all tests and that all tests reports back as "passed".

Click on the sound tab and move the acceleration slider to "none" (for a test start with none) then click exit and start E:RT, that could/should help prevent that E:RT crashes. if you dont have any crashes anymore try move the slider to "basic" in DXD.

If you are in doubt save the DXDiag Report after all tests has been run and mail it to me. (email link button on below here, dont use jesper@tidesofwar.net it is not an email address).
