Sorry to hear you are sick Jesper, get well so you don't miss Christmas. I figured there might be some reason behind the new structure. Perhaps a regular plans/progress post would help?
Thanks for the words. I will try to get well before x-mas, I had hoped that I could return to work tomorrow but it doesnt look like that is gonna happen, Ill know for sure tomorrow morning, in anycase it is my goal to be back at work by thursday.

I am working on a detailed plan, for the structure of tides of war and I will post it up soon as I got some of the bits pieced together to form a greater map for better insight.

There is some diffeculties to it cause most of our plans are changed often cause our ideas doesnt always come to the right results.

how come when I search for new posts it gives me results for the WHOLE ToW site, and not just the Enigma forums?
ROTFL! I was about to post the same thing. :D

Apparently Enigma, and TOW were different boards. I know, because I had to register on each seperately. One might not have noticed in the past by going to the Enigma board through the TOW one, because a link to it was added to the TOW index page to look as if it were a subforum.

Now I rarely visited or posted in TOW, but I ALWAYS come here via the new posts link. In fact, that's what my bookmark for this board is, not the index page. Like you, I am getting lots of new posts and threads shown now, and most are not Enigma ones. What's most confusing, is that the way it's shown, you can't immediately tell which is from what subforum. ("General Topics", "General Discussion" etc)

I much prefer a Enigma board View Recent Reports link that only shows recent reports from the Enigma board. I'm sure Jesper will eventually get around to figuring it out though.

Yes we are merging the boards, for a few reasons, the main reason is that each license costs $200, we aint millionaires ;)

When you use search, you can click on which forums to search within, be sure to click on "enigma" to search in here only.

Ive noticed the same diffeculties telling what forum "general topics" is from on the todays active posts, so I am thinking about a solution :)

I don't see a way to do that. There's no way to narrow the search to the Enigma forum in View New Posts. (Not that I saw, anyhow) I've been trying to fiddle with the url to include the forum specific code in there, but to no avail.

The get new post url is this:

http://forum.tidesofwar.net/index.php?act=Search&CODE=getnew

Here's the ERT forum:

http://forum.tidesofwar.net/index.php?showforum=71

I tried this, but it didn't work for me:

http://forum.tidesofwar.net/index.php?act=...=71&CODE=getnew

I'm not much of a web designer, but narrowing the search to forum "71" should be possible in the url somehow, shouldn't it?

The only thing that i can think of is to restructure this forum and rename some of the names, feel free to come up with some ideas / names :)

While I wrote the above I came to think that I can possibly get the "show todays...." to show the parent forum below the forum name (if you know what i mean)

Yeah, the standard search function. The problem with that is that you don't get new posts or threads, unless you already knew what they were, and were looking for them.
There is no way AFAIK to narrow down todays active topics to a specific forum.
I think it's possible with more open source board software like phpBB. I'm more used to that, and was using that as a basis for what I was proposing. I'm not as familiar with Invision, so it might not be as flexible.

That would be a good compromise. I like the TOW board (now the whole board), but I like to read all ERT related stuff first, and that would help loads.

IPB is quite more powerful than phpBB :P

How can one php written board be more open source than another ???

this one puzzles me since php is opensource and human readable the authors really dont have a choice Image IPB just isnt free for reasons like: better forum, better support, etc

We always welcome member inputs, after all that is how things turns out to the best results :)
