Submarine Stealth Question

The subs are currently balanced to allow some surface combat. As for submerged, they are about the same strength as a real sub; You can take on 1 destroyer easily as long as you have position, 2 or more can be too much to handle and you have to dive deep and play smart to try and survive their attack.

When the visibility rules go through their next enhancement, you will be able to specifically choose silent running; all reloads stop, etc. The sub aspect to the listener isn't implemented now, but would be pretty easy to add. I'll put it on the list of things to look at.

The game Silent hunter II has silent running that works perfectly as long as you have the mods installed. If the subs were made any stronger then the subs would be unrealistic when commanding them, dont forget they were made for hunting, shoot and get the hell out. Not lurking around and taking every god damn enemy ship out there. Yet in Enigma thats really what we do when commanding a sub. I know the game wasn't made for realism. But! still it should be we have to sink 3 to 5 ships in a convoy of say 15 and then try and make it home with the destroyers chasing us. Oh yeah I have found mission 4 in the german campaign for enigma bloody hard I seem to sink 2 destoryers yet another 2 turn up and waste my convoy i am protecting before i can sink them, any hints from other Captains, kapitans

A friend picked up Engima on my recommendation, but uninstalled it the first time he forced a sub to surface, hit it 3-5 times with his main gun, raked it with 20mm, and it turned and launched a spread of fish at him, sinking him :( He bought SHII and installed the mods, and is playing that now.

It would be nice if the subs weren't made of kryptonite or whatever. Any chance of revisiting that, East?
