Hello ladies and gents,

 

  As you all know, we have a TS server which is provided to us for free by ToW.  But I don't see too many using it.  If you join a squadron, why wouldn't you want to talk to them?  This is useful for getting groups, doing events, getting some assistance with something you need help with, etc...

 

  If you are in game I would like to see you in TS as well.  Now I do understand that there are times when it is not feasible for some.  Myself, for instance, have been given strict orders to not be on TS before 1900 Hrs.  These orders were given directly to me by the Momadaunt.

 

  But if you are constantly signing in to game and not into TS, that may be a problem.  We want active members who squad up with others.  What we don't want are members wearing the AAI tag running off solo all of the time and doing who knows what.  By wearing the AAI tag you represent all of us.

 

  Besides, we need to make room for more members as mentioned before, those that get into game and TS.  I will be doing another sweep & clear of the roster soon.  You may have been logging in, but if you haven't been on TS, you might be removed.  I'm on just about every night (have been for over 300+ days now) and I see who is logging in and who isn't.

Gents - (I am remembering this from memory so I'll edit out errors and add images later...)

Idea - An idea for those not so skilled with TS3...

Procedure - Make a Bookmark....

1. In TS3 make sure you are in the correct =AAI= channel you want then select "Bookmarks" / "Add Bookmark"

2. Select a "Title" for the book - I have loads along the format of "ToW=AAI=". This lets me know that I am connecting to ToW directly into the =AAI= channel

3. Select the "address" as "tidesofwar.net:9987"

4. Enter your "callsign" eg "ToW=AAI=Gosling"

5. Click the "recycle" icon against "Default Channel" to select the channel you are currently in.

6. Click "OK".

Test - Now try it out.

1. Select "Bookmarks" / "ToW=AAI=" and you should leave TS3 and come straight back in at he correct channel.

Result - Now you can get onto the squadron frequency without having to mess about....

I have many ToW bookmarks so I can be in the correct channel for the game I am playing at the time.
