The journey to England was uneventful. Upon reaching our patrol area we found nothing but English planes in the area. I headed south towards some ports where shipping was heavy but the escorts were too many. Radio signaled that we were to proceed to a second patrol area off the northeast coast of England. While en route to the area, we sighted two tankers heading northwest. We stayed submerged and attacked with torpedoes. The first tanker was hit and set ablaze but it took a total of 3 torpedoes to sink her.

The second ship was now alerted and two torpedoes into her set her afire. She later succumbed to flooding and fire before sinking.

We altered course to get away from a nearby destroyer and are en route to our second patrol area.
