New Poll On Rat Patrol Radio

#1
heya guys, busy as hell at work (maybe I'll actually make some money soon) so haven't been able to work on RPR like I'd like to. That's gonna change soon, I just ordered three more OTR CDs and have been going through the 26GB of OTR I've gleaned from Usenet. I'll be overhauling (more like keelhauling) the playlist, but even more important, it's time to start thinking about the holiday playlist. Lots of OTR and WWII Christmas programs on tap this year!

Anyway, the poll is "When would you like the Christmas Playlist to start?" Go to http://www.ratpatrolradio.com to vote!

You are listening to RPR, aren't you? :)

Listening, bookmarked and tapping my foot to Benny Goodman's band and is that Martha Tilton singing? Image wave:
Probably is! I have three new OTR CDs on the way. I'll be pulling out a lot of the old "radio news" clips for new ones. Maybe even include a few OTR commercials.

I have like 50 OTR Christmas shows, like Fibber McGee, Amos and Andy, Jack Benny, Abbot and Costello that will go in the Christmas playlist.

Just listened to a then-live July 1940 British broadcast of an English convey attack off the coast of England. The reporter was witnessing a bunch of Junkers divebombers attacking the convoy - missed every time. The AA guns missed the Junkers, too.

Then came the Spitfires. Listening to the reporter watching a Junkers tumbling out of the sky in flames and the pilot bailing out was just awesome.

The Junkers all did an about face, scampering back to France, with the Spitfires hot on their tails.

It was like listening to a sports match at times but it's a great snippet of history! Pass the popcorn. rolleyes:
