Interested In Eve? Well Let Me Help You Get Started

So you want to get into EVE but not sure how to get started? Well...let me help you.

FIRST >> Contact a member already playing EVE. We can set you up with a buddy invitation so that you get a longer trial period than going through the EVE site. This is like a try before you buy sort of thing. If you like it, you can sign up for the membership. If not...you're not out anything at all.

Next, you will have to pick your race. There are four races (Amarr, Caldari, Gallente and Minmatar) with each having sub-houses (sub-factions within each) with varying background. Each race has their strengths and special abilities. READ ALL races and sub-houses to find the one that suits your style of play best. It doesn't matter what race you play in order to join our corp as each individual has their own standings with everyone else in the game. Metacrania is Gallente, which specialize in long range sniping and mining. We do have members who are Caldari, Minmatar, and Amarr. So see...you can still join us even though you are "different" (kidding! ) Plus...just because you are one race doesn't mean you can't train to fly other race's ships. In fact, doing so will help you unlock special ships to fly.

The beginning:

EVE is not a quick game to conquer and be mastered. Time and strategy are key here. To be efficient...you have to be in for the long haul. Don't expect to jump in and win battles right off. In fact, you will find that there is ALWAYS a skill to train for and you will spend your initial time figuring out ways to make money (ISK). Basically, you are living your life in space and when you start...you are in diapers. So listen up junior! Your best bet is to join a group of members who will help you along and support you along the way *cough* Metacrania *cough*... Though you can go it alone, that's your choice. But remember the saying...there is strength in numbers.

Getting acclimated:

Truth be told...I didn't like the game at first. It was "different" from other space games I'd played...it wasn't fast paced....there was so much STUFF!!! It took about a month for me to like the game and realize that hey...THERE'S a LOT of STUFF in here to do! The game is totally open ended. You can be whatever you want...miner, explorer, militia, pirate, mercenary, CEO of a Corporation, Fleet Commander, etc. YOU make the choice!
