Rise of Flight surely is a step above when it comes to flight handling.

A beauty of a game with a feel of Realism. I am enjoying it alot.

Although it's been and still is a rocky road.. bugs still need stamping out!

I got my leather cap on..goggles on, silk scarf wrapped and bugs in my teeth...

currently up to version 1.009 with more features like built in mission recorder which works in single and multiplayer.

ToW actually has a 14 man server up for this.. you will find it easily in the multiplayer lobby.

[ToW] Tidesofwar.net kinda hard to miss..

Who else has this? or getting this? currently selling for around $40.00 .

I'll throw in my 2 cents worth on this flight sim. Buy it and fly it!

As Fuby mentioned, there are a few bugs that are being worked out but it's worth getting now and experiencing the flying.

I'm an old IL2 pilot and still enjoy Il2 but RoF has taken the place for my flying enjoyment.

Our ToW server is running great and with many positive comments from pilots around the world.

If you enjoy flying, hop in and fly the friendly skies.

I am very hopeful this will be under the Christmas tree so expect to see me trying out this sim in the new year...

I have had this game for a while and do love the game but like everyone get frustrated by the bugs .I am looking to join up with a group who enjoy playing this game for the enjoyment of the dogfight and the challeng of flying by the ol seat of the pants. this is my first post and probably in the wrong spot but any help in the right direction would be aprecaited . To answer the post yes buy this game if you love breakneck flying.

I am the Air Marshal and although my main interest is IL2:1946 I am intersted in all Air games flown by tidesofwar members. I started in AirAttack and I will be getting RoF for Christmas. I look forward to flying with you and the rest of the tides members and of course Prospective Members...

If you have any question, just post away , there will be someone around to help you. We love people asking questions because if we don't know the answer we can probabaly find out and it helps build the forums into a valuabel resource for other ab anitio pilots (I hate the phrase newbie) as we all were at the start.

Indeed IL2 is mainly Prop and very early jet. I am also only into props.

As it is a budget game these days IL2 is well worth it and there is a huge online community of dedicated people. The free Mod downloads are now enormous and make the game five times what comes in the box. Please see our IL2 forums for info. We are trying to run our own server here but struggle with stats etc. I will eventually sort it out.

If you go the IL2 route (which is, hands down, the absolute best WWII flight sim ever created, I would strongly recommend getting the IL2:1946 DVD. There are a couple patches and even some "mods" downloadable. There is still a very active online community and, for me, flying against real human pilots online is exponentially more challenging AND more fun than the canned single player missions.
