I Think we have a pretty good roster of pilots!

I was looking at our squad roster today I it came to me that we really have a pretty good group of pilots. I'm not really sure if we need any more new pilots.. I think we should take what we have and work with it.

Here are the Adult pilots with really decent skill: Tbar, Zarn, Burton, Jonny, Talon, Strife, Hollywood, Coldfire, Air Boss, REW and Myself.

We can't count on all being at every match some are on sick leave and other have some RL issues. That leaves Tbar, Zarn, Burton, Jonny, Hollywood, Talon, and Myself

Now we have to take out a couple of more Tbar and Jonny because they may not make every match. (Jonny is every other week and Tbar has some other game commitmments.

Whats left is Zarn, Burton, Hollywood, Talon and Myself. This is what hurts us. We can't be effective if our skill set isn't present to fly. So what we do is get anyone who can jump in to fly with us and they are not use to what we do. This is usually our young guys. While it is good experience for them I'm sure it is a little overwhelming to them also.

Our Young Guns are doing really well to: BryZ, Sheep, PAF, Deadlock, Lil_J and Eagle. Out of our young guns there are only 2 or 3 that can fly our matches because of there location in the USA. Bryz, Sheep and PAF are all out due to living in Aussie land or the South Pacific. So the time zone hurts us. That leaves us with Lil'j, Eagle and Deadlock. Of these 3 only LilJ will most likely make it to the some of the matches. Eagle I'm sure would like to fly, but if I remember correctly he has family responsibilities to take care of on Sunday and we will not encourage him to do anything different.

So all in all we have Zarn, Burton, Talon, Hollywood, Lil_J and Myself as our team base for approximately 75% of our matches. Thats 6 pilots, any less and its a forfeit. It's a delima that still haunts us. Then I look at all the matches that took place this week and ours was the only one that had a full compliment of pilots on both sides. Thorn had 5-6 against FD's 3, Warships had 7 against Evil 4 -5.

Where am I going with this, I'm not really sure. Except to say that we need to get our base group of pilots working together and then get the rest of the squad to conform. Its the base of pilots that need to work together. I think that this will help us out a lot. This is where another problem occurs, some of our gorup of base pilots live in the UK which is a 5 hour time zone difference. So our practice will be at two different times during the week UK will have one on Saturdays and the US on Tuesdays. That leaves us with the most important practice where we can all get together which is Sunday before our matches.

Not many people have been showing up for these, We need this practice to go over our game plan and talk about game strategy.

So with this said I leave it in your hands to perform your duties to your squad family. Lets build on what we have and hopefully we can get it all together. When we do this we will have ther other squad scratching their heads, wanting to know what has changed with us!

I am on TS a lot. I also monitor who's in AA. FREQUENTLY our BSS members are NOT on TS when they fly. I feel very strongly there are only three things that needs SERIOUS help within the BSS:

1) Communication - During Dog Fights (matches) [You can practice this every time you fly]

2) Situation Awareness - Reading the map .. and using the F4 lock correctly. [You can practice this every time you fly]

3) F4 E Locks .. how to read them .. and how to cycle quickly .. very quickly. [You can practice this every time you fly]

Experience will come with time .. that does not need to be taught. Most Rolls, etc, can be learned by simple observation in FF and Teams when flying for fun. Our pilots know how to fly (knowing how to take off in a scramble is another thing ) :)

OK.. next time you fly and there are ample targets around .. look at your map. You see colored lines? You see two lines .. one is colored white .. the other is colored with the color of the opponent. Sometimes the colored line is LONG ..and sometimes it is SHORT. What does that mean?

I love those mind squeeze questions lol

the White line indicates the direction of my own plane. and it has a Fixed Length.

the other colored line is the Color of the enemy plane ( Green:GB, Purple:GE, Yellow:US, Red:SU)

the Direction of the colored line indicates the nearest enemy plane on REAL Combat not on map!

cause an enemy plane can be the closest to me on map but it's at very high or very low altitude which doesn't arise a direct threat to me. so the colored line might point to a far more enemy plane (on map) but in fact it's the closest in distance (between my plane and the enemy plane) on real combat.

and the colored line has a Variable Length (which is another issue)

Basically, as a general rule for the colored line:

and this is the tough part

when it's Short : the enemy plane indicate (higher threat level) or closest to me whether high or low.

when it's Long : the enemy plane indicate (lower threat level) or farest from me whether high or low.

I hope Tbar correct me if i'm wrong :) if he can check this thread again *just yes or no answer specially the short/long part , but no more hints is fine, i will keep trying* :P

P.S i was in a good mood while writing this post, so i thought i would spice it up a bit lol

Salute :)

Real close :)

I like the way you looked into this.

What you simply need to do now .. is get into a practice room .. have it set so there are at least 5 guys. Have each country represented. Sit on the runway and see what it says on the map. Then YOU take off and fly around and see what colors come up and you fly to and away from enemy bases.

Now the next step is revealing. Have those planes take off and fly just over their base at 4-6k. Now you fly around and alter your alt as you fly. Fly lower.. and fly higher.

You can see some of this in FFA .. but remember everyone is enemy there.

Best place to test it is in a team environment.

You can look at the colors and very quickly figure if an enemy is hight . or lower.. and which one would be the immediate threat :)

Very good. Very Good.
