A pined topic for tips and tactics ?

You can't tell by my flying, but I do from time to time, read through BSS flight school manual, (dry as the tax code) and learn a thing or two. It is helpfull. In forums, especially BREZY and BURTON will post a tip now and then. JoKeR has given me many, and I've picked up much from T_BAR on teamspeak. Would it be worth the trouble to have a pined topic for these tactics?. In my limited experience, a couple of sentences here and there, have greatly improved (although not evidently) all facets of my flying. when someone wanted to share their words of wisdom they could be found under one heading. I think it would be helpfull to all Image ......well me, and might encourage more input and discussion.

Looking forward to the day, sheep rule the world.

Hollywood,

Sunday you done good! I think the only reason for the crash on take off was a little lag in your system. I still think that we can get you fixed up. What you probably need to to is to shut off a few of the programs that run in the back ground. You can usually see what programs are up and running by using your task manager. Here is what I would like for you to do. Bring up your task manager ( Contrl, Alt, Delete) and got to the process tab

There you will see a list of all the program that are running. Write them all down You will see a bunch of weird stuff. like csrss.exe or CLPTray.exe it could be almost anything. The next thing you will see behind each of these is the USER NAME. Anything that says SYSTEM, don't touch it. If its LOCAL or USER you can probably shut it down ok. If you are not sure what it is, google it. something is bound to pop up to tell you what it does.

You may have some chat programs running like MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, or Odigo. Shut them down they use up resources. If you have RAM programs like RAM Idle, or RAM Booster, Use it then shut if down, If you have any music programs like Winamp on your task bar, shut it down. ALL these little things use up system resources.

Anyway, most of that should help you get your speed back up. As for your flying, not much of a problem there. By the way I printed out the flight manual a long time ago and I have it in a loose leaf note book and ready to look at any time. I encourage everyone to do the same.

I spent nearly an hour on the phone with Hollywood after Sundays Match. His phone lines are crystal clear. He has no "bad programs" running that I can see. He has plenty of ram and cpu to play AA and TS with NO problem.

He uses 10.00 month Juno service.

I gave him a complete list of things to do to have his internet performance data checked by his ISP. Let JUNO soslve the problem .. or switch to his local Tel Com for Inet Service.

Hollywood .. via his computer had connection and ping to www.tidesofwar.net of 1500+ !!!! This is the whole reason for his problems. Totally unacceptable by any standards to hit a site less than 300 miles with pings in that range. He has a SERIOUS ISP issue.
