i for 1 was quit happy playin MOHAA IL2 STURMOVIK bf1942 BLACK HAWK DOWN.....but now! i cant put this simm down i is so fantastic i think the music score realy adds to the game.r u guys all hard core SHIP/SUB simmers?(just a quick thought if you lot register your game now you r gaurenteed to be able to use your chosen player name,leave it too late and you might have to be called CPT Birdseye or some thing) any way where was i...oh yeh id thought about buying SILENT HUNTER AND DESTROYER COMMAND but couldnt see any rave reveiws.So glad i bought this 1 though.

I have always been a fan of any navy sim but there never seems to be any good ones out, except for enigma. I mainly play World War 2 sims like mohaa and world war 2 online, and I also own ALOT of ww2 flight sims.
Never like or played any other sim, cept train sim now and then, but Im addicted to E:RT...

I have mostly played first person shooters and role playing games, along with a few flight sims. I heard about E:RT because www.3dgamers.com, a site that I check on a daily basis, was hosting a copy of its demo and mentioned it on it's front page. I love the command sim concept of the game. Getting into the nitty-gritty of some sims can be frustrating to those like me who have short attention spans.
Do they make games that aren't war sims???
If so I've never seen one.
MOHAA-S, IL2, SH2, WW2OL, European Air War, anything by Janes, Gettysburg, Deadly Dozen, Hidden & Dangerous, Great Naval Battles, Dawn Patrol, Flying Fortress, Panzer Coommander, BF 1942.... I think you can see where I'm going with this.
Oh ya, there was this little game called DOOM too and the Command & Conquer series.
O yea I also play BF1942 and Road to Rome
I suppose I mainly play naval sims, though I have a lot other games - doesn't mean I'm any good though lol.
Played quite a bit of Sub Command online and AOS (II and Privateers Bounty).
I quite like flight sims but they don't do it for me - Jane's USAF and IL-2 (both versions) are the only one's I have time for.
I prefer squad games to FPS (H&D and Op. Flash.). I was impressed with the graphics and sound on MOHAA but I felt it was just Quake with hedges.
I also play a lot of Shogun and Medieval Total War.
I was every very disappointed with SHII and Destroyer Command. ERT has filled that void and then some!
Heck, I still have Silent Service II (for DOS) and Red Storm Rising tucked away in my closet.Just found an old copy of Red Baron 3D that I'm going to try and get run under XP. I grew up in a Navy town, my dad was an engineer on the refit team for the Sturgeon class attack subs in the late 60s/early 70s when I was a kid. Some folks may recognize me as one of the "old guys" from WWIIOL. I can't wait to get my copy here in the States (I bought the Gigex version) and I *really* can't wait for multiplayer.
