LTS League - 2nd revision

Hello All,

Well you have some good points, so I have revised the rules. Please look them over and give me your thoughts good or bad.

Last Team Standing League

Rules:

Last Team Standing League is sponsored by the USAAC and adheres to all COC of the AA and the USAAC.

General

Last Team Standing will be played on the 1.5 short tactical map, and squads will fly GB and US with all planes available. There will be no altitude limit and the map limit is base-to-base square. Players going outside the map limit will result in an immediate loss of the round. All players must engage.

A match will consist of 4 rounds and the scoring will be one point for the last team standing after each round. If in a match both teams win 2 rounds a 5th round will be flown to determine the winner.

Referee will give the scramble command and both teams will take off and grab for altitude. After 2 minutes the ref will announce the engage command, all planes must engage. Planes visibly not engaging will be counted as dead and must crash. Once you are dead you must not take off, wait for the next round. You may take off if you have collided or crashed up to 30 seconds after scramble, if over the 30 seconds you must sit and wait until the next round. When round is over pilots must crash, no landing. (This speeds up the game.) Pilots entering into the arena late can not take off, they must wait for the next round.

Teams may fly with 6 pilots max but encourage all pilots fly as long as teams are even at the beginning of each round. If extra pilots they may watch from the GE runway at the referees discretion.

All pilot tags will be registered with the USAAC League Manager and will be the C/Os responsibility to make sure all pilots are registered. If not then these pilots will not be able to see the arenas, or will not be allowed to fly.

A maximum of the first 6 spaces will be allowed for squad identification and the rest for pilot identification. You may use letters, numbers or combination of letters and numbers for this identification. (Example) FD_P, USHA_P4, Tigers_G9, etc? We encourage the use of identifiable tags (Example), FD_Skydancer, USHA_Popgun, Tigers_Nemo, etc..

At the end of the league points will be added and 1st, 2nd , and 3rd places will be announced.

Sky, I suggest you edit your 1st post, saying to scroll down to read the current revision. It would save people reading this thread for the 1st time from reading the old draft.

Something should be added about conduct during matches. Have a look at the other communities' rules page.

About those match tags.... :D I still prefer FD_Skydancer over any other tag format.

Temper,

There is a better way .. its called "splitting" the topic .. i.e. create a new topic from a post within this thread. I'll do so now. Tbar proceeds to press magic buttons, bells, tones, whistles .. crackle .. pop! A new topic appears.

Awww.. I like this better :)

Now to business :)
Teams may fly with 6 pilots max but encourage all pilots fly as long as teams are even at the beginning of each round. If extra pilots they may watch from the GE runway at the referees discretion.
Now this is fine.. but I feel is vague to some degree and should be expanded. Let me give example that may not be worded perfectly but the idea gets accross.

Teams/Pilot Rules

Designated Camps are US and GB. GE is a Ref and spectator Camp. Team Camps are assigned via the published fixtures. Home team will be US, Visitors will be GB. There is no need to swap camps after 1st half.

A) Teams will be a 6 x 6 format base.

A given team may fly with 4 or 5 pilots, however the opposing team will fly with six (max pilots).

8-) Six pilots is the maximum

Six pilots is the format UNLESS both teams elect to fly additional pilots AND the assigned referee approves. Teams must fly an even number of pilots if flying more than 6 i.e. 7x7, 8x8 and so on.

C) Four Pilots Minimum.

A Team may NOT fly with less than 4 pilots for any round, grace periods will NOT be allowed at scramble time for any round. No exceptions
  • If a given team has less than 4 pilots present at 1st round Scramble time, the full match (all rounds) will be forfit. No exceptions. If both teams have less than 4 pilots at first round, both teams will register a total round loss. Both teams will receive 0 (zero) score, both teams forfit and the match is over.
  • EACH round must have 4 pilots each team minimum. Any given team that does not have 4 pilots at scramble time for any given round will forfit that round and any remaining rounds. Zero points are awarded to a forfit round(s) team, the opposing team is awarded the forfit round(s) win point.
D) KIA - Once a pilot takes off from the runway upon the 'scramble' order, said pilot cannot take off again.

If a pilots is shot down, crashes or is ordered to crash .. they are dead and cannot continue for that round. Pilots must stay on the runway with engines 'off'. EXCEPTION: If a pilot crashes on take off for any reason within the first 30 seconds of the scramble order, said pilot may take off again. This happens occasionally when pilots collide on take off. Game Ref may also make an exception if warranted. Pilots need to ASK if in any doubt.

E) Spectators are allowed to 'sit and be ready up' at the designated camp. Spectators may NOT use the coms during match play, a violation of the coms rules or any mis-behavior may result in Referee disipline including kicks, using forfit rules, etc, upon the violating team members team.

F) Dropped Pilots. The 'dropped pilot' rule ONLY applies once a round starts (after scramble order). Prior to round start, there is no dropped pilot rule. The Term "Dropped Pilots" defined: This is when a pilot during game round play is 'dropped' out of the game for any reason. Once a round starts a dropped pilot is considered 'dead' and may not take off and/or re-enter the battle for a given round. There is no forfit for a dropped pilot nor dose the opposing team need to drop a pilot.

G) Teams may elect to use different pilots after each round. The spectator base is encouraged for this reason.. i.e pilots are ready to go in case of dropped pilots, etc.

Start Time.

Let's get this right .. and get started on time. If a match is scheduled for 3PM, the match should start no later than 3:05PM.

Once squads realize this is no joke .. they will show up 20 minutes early for each match .. get their act together and be ready to go. Nothing irritates me more than ... waiting .. waiting .. Ref, we got one more coming.. and every other dern excuse in the book.

=============================================

Match Start Time

All matches will start at the scheduled time. Team are encouraged to be present 15 to 20 minutes prio to start time. No 'grace period' or delay will be allowed 2 minutes past the start time. Either team may request a 'grace' prio to the 2 minute mark. Matches will start no later than 7 minutes past the scheduled start time. In no case will more than ONE grace be allowed, regardless of which team calls for a grace.

Teams without the required number of pilots at start time will forfit the match.

Breaks between rounds will be no longer than 5 minutes. The assigned Referee will issue a 'Ready Up' and the round will start no later than 5 minutes past the 'ready up' order.

In the event a Ref arrives late, the match will start within 5 minutes of the Ref's arrival.
