Team Speak Is A Must

Team Speak is a MUST ..

During FFA or play TEAMS .. TS is not all that critical .. but for matches and instructions etc .. Team Speak is a must. Game coms just cannot be counted on .. you can't depend on every pilot to be able to pay attention to all the gibberish that appears on the screen. We can't afford 'typing deaths' in a match.

I want every pilot to be able to get some experience during a match (even brand new pilots). But how can I put a pilot up a if they have problems with Team Speak and either can't hear orders .. or can't respond to orders? It hurts the team... when we can't communicate.

I feel very strongly that all team members are 'equal' as far as being heard and having voice within the squad. If you are brand new to the squad it make no difference to me. You are a member of equal standing and your input counts. I also feel that every member should have an opportunity to fly. But consider, if you don't have team speak .. we really have to think that out for the best interest of the squad. If you have Team Speak problems .. we will probably only put you in the air for one half.

Other.. but related.

Frankly, I have trained myself not to pay much attention to 'typed' messages .. I'm far to busy on Team Speak and flying and barking orders .. watching the map.. checking locks .. list goes on.

I want to warn you about something.. distractions. One of which is as follows:

It is a dirty trick during a match for planes/pilots that are sitting on US to use the coms. I've seen this done before to try and confuse the other team by asking pilots questions or taunting. The is a strict NO NO for BSS Pilots .. if you are sitting US as an observer, after a SCRAMBLE order .. do not use the coms unless you are asked a direct question from your CO/XO or the REF. Use of TS is ok.... but should only be used when absolutely necessary during the combat halves .. leave the air waves clean for the pilots in action.
