last night I had a 1vs 1 vs ToW_top_gun and I noticed some weaknesses in his flight-style. Now I?m not a GUIDE, also because I simply haven?t the time to be one. But I?m probably good in explaining things. So you could consider me a GUIDE rather for the theory, than the practice.
Last night I?ve explained the ?fastest loop?to ?top_gun? and I thought it probably is a knowledge to share with all of you, so let?s go:
There is a fastest loop:
- Imagine around your plane is a clock, where 12 is above you, 6 below you, 3 is behind you and 9 in front of you.
- You?re flying straight ahead, heading 9 o?clock, Flaps on ?UP? and you want to loop.
- You pull your nose up and between 10 and 11 o?clock you switch your flaps to ?landing?, ?down? or ?full? (depends to the plane, you?re in)
- you go overhead and right after you have passed the horizon in your back between 4 and 5 o?clock, you switch your flaps back to ?UP?. Thats it already.
There is a more accurate timing possible, if you simply watch your speed during loops:
- when speed starts to decrease, switch flaps to ?landing, down or full?
- when speed starts to increase, switch flaps to ?UP?.
Especially the Bf 109-k, Spitfire 9 and both available Yak?s are very good responding to loops, while the Spitfire14 and LA/7 do not.
Those of you, who?re getting confused when using the padlocked view (F4), start to use it during loops only, at first and after a while you?ll get used to it.
