Flower Class Corvettes

#1
One of the most enjoyable ships i've commanded so far in ERT has been the Flower Class Corvette.  It has everything you could desire from an ASW small patrol vessel. Considering it was originally designed (in real life) as a coastal escort and minesweeper i think it shows the versatility of a classic design. A small ship with a big punch!
For those of you out there interested in the Flower Class i can recommend the book "The Cruel Sea" by Nicholas Monsarrat.  Which descibes the adventures of a fictious Corvette called "Compass Rose" in the battle of the Atlantic.  The book was also turned into a famous film with the same title and is widely regarded as the definitive WW2 warship movie (kind of in the same vain as 'Das Boot').

Carry On!

"The men are the heros of this story
The heroins are the ships

And the only villien the sea the cruel sea"

very good book :D

Wait till you try out a Destroyer' date=' thats a BIG SHIP WITH A HUGE PUNCH :)[/quote']
I've commanded the RN Destroyer and your right it does have a lot of firepower and is quite fast for a relativley large ship' date=' however i can't help feeling that i'd rather trade some of that speed for some more armour.  It just seems a bit flimsy when under fire.
I havn't tried the other destroyers yet, how do they compare?

Didnt the doctor tell you only to take 1 pill per day?
You think the CV has more armour than the DD's ?

I think I know a couple DD'Caps here that would love to meet you for a battle on the seas :)

For a sub it takes 2 Torps to sink a CV' date=' while it takes 4 to sink a DD, and with extreme skills a Sub can sink a CV on the surface, but the DD's has too much firepower.

Im sure that when you has been sunk X times, you wish you had a DD :D[/quote']
