This Tow Site Or Usa Air Attack Site ?

I thought this was going to be the new USA Air Attack site, but every where i look. I see Tides Of War squad logo and name. Kind of confuse. Someone shed some light on this for me. And the forums are so huge!! Real confusing with many, many, and many game forums included. Thought it was just going to be a US Air Attack site and forum? The Air Attack forum is redirected back to TOW forums. http://forum.tidesofwar.net/index.php?act=idx The US Air Attack site suppose to be independent away from all other squad's website. Just like TAA and UK Air Attack site.

It is totally independent.

TAA and possible UKAA does host squad forums.. maybe even entire squad sites. USAAC can do the same if they wish to. Right now it is a matter of funding so the airattack.us site points here .. that is a simple change to "host" the domain on ToW main Server called Ares.

Tides of War is simply hosting this for us. If you read all that is posted under USAAC Staff, you will get some insight. At the current time we are tapping into what we can use for free. When the USA Squad leaders elect their Board of Directors then the USAAC forums wont branch out to all of Tides of War. When the Board comes together, they can do anything they like as a group: i.e. they can move the site, rebuild the site, change the name, etc.

What is important now is that WE have some place of our own to get started. Starting up seems to be always the hard part for a WE. Well WE have a starting point now that WE never had before :) Also, the USAAC site is BETA which is stated on the first page. So some systems are still not totally as WE .. the USA Squads.. would want them to be. In essence what has been put up to this point is a 'shell' that the USAAC can build from.

The cost of software, hosting, domains, etc has been absorbed already to give this new Organization room to breath and get a management team together before any monies have to be invested. Tides of War has agreed to host this site for us for two years with no ties to Tides of War or any strings attached except for the following:

1) Basic Tides of War ToS and CoC is respected and followed. This is a 'normal' for any USA site that basically says "Be a good guy" and you may not use the site/facilities for illegal purposes.

2) That Google Ads be allowed to help support the bandwidth we use for the USAAC. BTW this is not a real condition, but a request.

3) That if the USAAC site starts putting Tides of War OVER the band width limits they have that USAAC offset that cost.

Basically ToW has said that you can use the facilities free of charge as long as it does not cost ToW. ToW has a very huge chunk of Bandwidth allocated and does that feel that would be an issue anyway.

Tides of War is a gaming community that is very unique in that they have 'hosted' certain user groups to give them a 'start up hand'. The Black Sheep Squadron is an official Tides of War group, but said group is independent in that they are not restricted to being on the ToW site .. they can move their site anywhere they so desire. Tides of War would do the same for any legitimate AA squad that was starting up .. which would NOT make them a Tides of War Squad, they are independent. Tides of War is a non-profit club, NOT a business.

Once the "Board of Directors" is firmly established, the domain of www.airattack.us will be 'gifted' to that organization.

The direction that the USAAC Organization takes is totally in their hands. Currently .. yes.. there are connections to the main site of Tides of War... "our Sponsor" was intended to be the only way into Tides of War as a curtsy or thank you for hosting .. but even that is up to the Board of the USAAC. The forums do allow one to 'escape' the USAAC system at the current time simply because the ToW staff didn't want to do the extra work until said USAAC Board was established.

Just a final note, if WE waited for all the USA Squads to get together and find the funding, get a domain, hire or get volunteer webmasters, graphics folks to come up with logo's, etc .... find funding for same .. I think WE would still be waiting around a year from now. As it is now, the USA Squads have a very good opportunity here .. very good .. and most of the work is done good enough to get us started NOW.

PS: Tides is currently making a host of daily changes to all systems. Some changes are being made to facilitate the USAAC, others are upgrades, skinning and so forth. A large task ... these constructions will show some changes in "appearance and the look and feel". Bear with us as we make these changes.

All this that you see is testing and setup.

Some folks have come in here early under Beta, which is ok with me, but understand we are still setting all this up .. so you won't have to do anymore 'jumping' than you do on any other board :)

I am one of the forum and website guys that works for USAAC to get all this set up. Input is appreciated and needed, but remember .. this is beta and not open as yet to the general public. You are having a sneak preview :)
