Once again I'd like to push the use of TankPoints, which has been rewritten for patch 2.01. Whilst it isn't going to be perfect, it will give a pretty good indication of the relative defensive capabilities of our tanks and is the closest thing we have to a yardstick, not only to use as a measure amongst ourselves but also against other guild's Main Tanks.

This isn't meant to be a pissing contest, and yes I know it doesn't take into special abilities. However it is a means of roughly comparing tanking gear and, most importantly, tracking improvement.

Unbuffed Tankpoints (note vs a L63 opponent, old TP addon gave value vs L60):

currently fully resto-specced for tree-form round of hunt the asbach :)

will post latest scores once specced back to bear.

BTW, if we're starting from scratch again, might be worth considering a buffed TP value too, since almost all raid MT-ing will be being done while fully buffed? Maybe overcomplicate things tho...

At first I was reluctant to post score, it seemed so...inadequate! Then I realised about the mob level difference.

I *think* that if you set the mob level to 60 rather than 63, the TP value should be roughly the same as before (not exactly due to talent changes and inclusion of block).

However 63 is more representative value for boss tanking and its now the default, which makes it easier to obtain.

PS @ Asbach, would be interested to see the TP difference from full floral spec to full feral.

Big difference after patch 2.03 here:

Regular TPs up from 19902 to 24113 (NB 18097 untalented)

Fire TPs drop from 13986 to 13183.

Basically I think this is due to big increase in dodge avoidance and armour mitigation, but a drop in (unbuffed) health. Raid buffed, should be a significant boost on before.

Havent posted any new scores as they seem to differ each time I log :lol:..

The leveling increases my basic defense values so each level I gain some defence and off course HP.Next to that the gearing makes for slow TP building as I started at a T1 level I guess.
