Starforce

Sounds like a lot of customers are being lost because of Starforce.

Just thought it might make for some interesting reading.

STF3 issues are mainly user errors I would think.

Either poorly configured systems or old and worned out cd/dvd drives.

Its very true that STF installs a device driver on your system when you install a STF protected game, the driver is harmless, tho I have heard people complain about it is busting up software like Nero, CDRWin, Daemon Tools etc.

I have installed E:RT plus other STF3 protected games several times and I have never encountered any of the errors that everyone keeps 'flaming' about.

I have used both CDROM, CDRW, DVDRW drives with all above mentioned software running fine too.

Somewhere along the lines I think that people needs to recognize that disc drives needs to be updated too now and then (like with Videocards), or atleast try flash the FirmWare

I have never encountered a problem, either. I was just showing how many people say that they WILL NOT buy a game that uses Starforce. There are quite a few posts stating that.

No, seriously. I have never had any problems with starforce, in fact, I didn't even know it was on Enigma. (is it?)

Lego, it is used with Engima.

Never had a problem with starforce and all my drives are CD-RW & DVD-RW (I have 2 drives)

Not sure, but I do know that some posts/threads may have been lost due to the screwed up board upgrade.
