Programming Suggestion

I remembered reading a post where several folks put down Nvidia Video Cards.

Folks remember Nvidia is one of the two biggest Video Card Makers out there

In other words, making a game that is not compatable to one of the two is cutting

your potential market in half. I myself personally use an Nvidian Video Card. The

Company is Great, all the cards share universal Drivers and are regularly updagted. Since you rescently lost your lead programmer (which i was really sorry

to hear) Maybe now would be a good time to re-do some programming and indeed

make Enigma compatable with Nvidia Video Cards.

Nothing personal but a lot of folks arent going to be willing to go out and buy a different video card just to be able to play enigma.

Then again maybe im wrong :)/ but again it certainly couldnt hurt making the game operate on both ati and nvidia.

By the way I didnt post this as a rant, I posted it as a suggestion .

You misunderstand; when I griped it wasn't anything to do with Nvidia hardware or Enigma - it was that Nvidia released updated drivers that were broken. A company the size of Nvidia should not be making that kind of mistake. Lesson is, latest is not always greatest (or, as one of my old bosses used to say, "better is the enemy of good").

Enigma is 100% compatible with Nvidia hardware.

Yeh, I use an nVIDIA card too, and Enigma runs smoothly with all drivers.

There is problems with the GFMX440 cards.

GF-FX cards owners can eaasilly upgrade their driver everytime, however owners of older cards GF2-3-4Ti-MX-Quadro may or may not experience issues with newer driver versions, as they primarily are built for the FX Technology.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up mates. Yeah i use an older mx440 card, its the

64mb DDR, the little built on fan on the heat sink got so hot it caused the blades

center hub to crack causing the fan blad to jam, this froze up my pc after a short

period of time. I took an old p3 processor fan and mounted it on the cards heat sink, spliced into the 12v pwr supply and shazzam,, not a single problem since.

Ive learned that keeping your video and your computer in general cool is a good thing

to do. Overheating causes a lot of issues / lock ups.
