Another Fan Competition Idea!

We recently had story writing competition for ERT, and the other day I thought about suggesting another idea.

How about a Radio drama or Audio drama competition? The technology to do so is right under your noses!

There are many free audio recording and editing programs on the net, such as

Audacity (found here Audacity)

Either by permission of ERT people, sound wavs and maybe soundtrack bites (for transitions and beginning intro etc) from the game could be used for soundeffects and other sound effects i guess can be found on the web (only niggle here is copyright issues- apart from finding royalty free or free sound clips etc. or simply recording your own collection of sounds.)

Anyway, finding some voice actors wannabes might prove diffcult, after all bad voice acting is like bad lighting and camera work to a film. I havent used audacity extensively yet, but it has a quite a few effects and options, where you could alter your voice, pitch, speed etc to make it sound like another character if you are the sole voice actor.

But there may be ert users on this forum that dont want to make a radio drama

but wouldn't mind having a go at doing voice acting. A few guys who might be miles/countries apart could still record their voices on their computer and send them to the guy who is gonna put the story together.

Perhaps there can be a few categories to judge, such as Comedy, Drama, Action..

Perhaps the ERT sound effects guys and the ERT theme music- could put a short intro sequence that we can download to add to the start of our audio drama.

Maybe if this idea takes off from the dry docks into deep waters- the competed audio dramas could be sent in to Ert HQ for judging, and they "all" could be compiled onto a single cd- and copies made available for a small fee for the community to purchase online. Else members can mail their own audio drama to one another through the net or via CD.

Whether this idea takes to water I don't know- any feedback anyone?
