Yes, but keep in mind that if it is sinking, it is getting deeper and deeper. I could stop and rotate my ship (if I try to turn I usually don't turn as fast and I hit my enemy) but rotating takes to long.

practice, you dont have to dive, just sink enemies. infact you can complete all the missions from scope depth.

turning isnt slow, its just a matter of timing the start properly

Well, somtimes turning does work, but i have a nasty habit of waiting untill the ship is literally 10m away, in which case i definitely don't have time to turn, plus the ship might have dropped charges.

I dive to about 30-40m and then come up to scope depth to: A. finish the ship off if it isnt already dead, or B. attack whatever was next to the ship I sank (w/stern tubes)
