OK, you're in USS Lionfish, an S class submarine (4 bow 4 stern) somewhere in the South China sea.

Ok, the orders are specific - sink the oiler. Risk is low

The corvettes are dressing, if you don't get the oiler (OL1), you've failed.

Suggestion 1) there is another thread in this forum which sugggests a way.

Suggestion 2) read the briefing and the Captains log, it will indicate the objectives. Stick with the objectives.

I think in this mission I charged towards the oiler, ducked the first (flank at 20m) surfaced, using the rear torpedoes sunk the one I ducked then using the forward torpedoes, sunk the oiler. I stayed on after reaching the victory conditions to sink the second corvette.

When the mission starts, do not pay attention to the CV's but turn to get within shooting angle of the OL (The Olier). while turning change the torpedo speed to max (44kts).

Fire your torpedoes from the distance, a little practice will make you able to hit it with 1 fish, but for now fire a spread of 4.

Now pay attention to the whereabouts of the CV's, if they are far away, keep your course at flank speed towards the OL, and be ready to fire a spread more.

If the CV's are too close to you, that you cant fire a spread and get reloaded before they are over you, you should turn your sub to face the CV that is closest to you while your crew reloads the tubes.

Sink them, using only 4 fish (2 per CV), the easiest way to sink a CV it to keep facing it dead on (nose to nose), and when the distance is ~150-200meters fire 1, wait till it starts to turn to evade (dont worry its too late to evade at this point), then turn in the same direction and when your nose is facing the CV's front or around midships, fire 2. turn to face the other CV, repeat above steps to sink it.

When you have sunk both CV's blow ballast and rig for surface. turn your sub to face the OL (if you didnt hit it in the beginning), flank ahead and man the deckgun or let the AI handle that.

If I rememebers correctly, Lionfish has its deckgun mounted behind the conn tower (dumb yanks thats only useful when fleeing the battlezone *hehe*), so you have to line the sub up so that the deckgun can be fired.

Ahoy! Hope youre having more luck now..

Dont you just hate it when someone reads the entire movie script to you before you go to see the surprise ending?

It's like asking whats the movie about, and then you get told everyone dies in the end anyway...

So whenever you ask for a hint, I'll just try to give a hint, one step at a time, until you ask again, in case you wanted a little respect for not having too much revealed, too fast.

Unless of course you mention that you want a no-holds barred, drop down, drag out, pull all the stops, open book style strategy guide with the "FINAL" answer in bold print. Then of course if I had to do all that, I might have to charge.

lol
