Trimming The Camel

Hi all,

After some mucking around with the "response" section in the control options I've figured how to trim a aircraft for straight and level flight.

I use "straight and level" loosely because these aircraft are not stable to begin with.

Anyhow, it's pretty simple and I did it by:

Opening options

Click response

Click plane control: pitch

Uncheck "symmetry"

There you will see the grid that determines how the pitch of your aircraft is handled by your joystick. You will see a line moving from the top right corner to lower left corner with 3 dots on it.

To trim the Camel correctly (ie: account for its natural tendency to pull up) Click and drag the center dot downwards along the Y-Axis.

For my Camel I have it at -16%, this allows me to have relatively straight and level flight without the need for so much forward pressure to maintain it. You may need to muck around with it yourself to determine a setting that is suitable for you though.

Hope this helps, I got sick of holding the joystick so far forward all the time and I've noticed after doing this the Camel is a much more stable aircraft to gun and fly than it was before.
