I can't really do that without revealing some content. The best way to do this is have a trusted member of your group that does not have access here determine if they can see MY post title in "View New Post" or via "My Assistant". I don't believe then can, but why not check it out and feel comfortable?
After reviewing the BSS account and the length of time the BSS has been a member battle group of the ToW Club and Tides of War, we have established a 'Group' for the BSS. What this means is that we can eliminate the need for passwords for 'established' members of the BSS. "Established' means that the member is trusted. Any member of the BSS that must input a password in order to gain access to a protected forum means that they have not as yet been placed on the "BSS Group". To place a member on the BSS Group would require a PM to ToWF or a board Administrator (Someone that has access to the back-end of the forums. To Remove a member from a group would require the same process.
Permission set for the BSS Group is set so that all members of the BSS Group can in fact view the private forums. No other members outside of the BSS can even 'see' those forums exist. Certain members of ToW Staff can 'see' the forums exist, but still cannot enter them unless they are are TowNet level (Such as I).
We suggest that a control group of members be put into the "BSS Group" for testing and to build confidence on your end that the system does in fact work properly. One way to always test is to "log off" and approach your forums as a guest would, its not fool proof but still a good test.
A Bi-Product of this 'group' concept means that your members will sort out on the member seach by simply selecting the BSS. Exception to this would be members such as Tbar because he cannot be a primary group of BSS as he is a board administrator. Member Search only sorts by "primary' group.
At this time .. only the public forum and HQ can be seen by anyone outside the BSS Group. This means that the following forums can only be seen by members in the BSS Group:
Sortie
Off Duty
Archives
CO/XO
The following members have been place in GROUP BSS (hopefully I have the ranking within the BSS correct) :
Tbar (non affective)
Joker
Tango
Burton
Zarn
Towman ***
If there are others, just PM me. You will only need a few days to test this. I'm only on duty a few times a week, but I do get email notification of PM's. I'll be monitoring this forum closely. NOTE: Towman *** is a testing persona that will be used on your group for a few days.
