I noticed the CLOSING of certain very popular threads .. and I ask why?

I DEMAND THOSE THREADS BE OPEN .. NOW!!

Those post are interesting.. educational .. surely the once a month visitors have not had an opportunity to post ..

Hey.. I think they left SLANDER of the list: Slander is an untruthful oral (spoken) statement about a person that harms the person's reputation or standing in the community.

But, if it was CLOSED because of any of those no no's.. then why is it still visible? Or why didn't they leave it open and just remove the no no parts? I'm confused.

Xena .. I think you should complain for having your post closed where the FM decided no one wanted to talk about those subjects any longer. Surely no one can decide when a topic is no longer interesting .. can they? Or when a topic as 'run it course'.. can they? What about the once a month reader .. they have not had a chance to express their opinions yet!!

You have demonstrated that by opening up another thread in order to express whateve it is you are expressing. Anyone else can do likewise. Nothing has been lost; nothing, as you seem to suggest, has been censored.

You suggest that Xena, the originator of these topics should complain about her topics being closed. I can assure you that we consulted with her before doing so and she concurs that the subject appears to have been adequately discussed. As I said, however, there is nothing at all to prevent anyone, just as you did, from opening a fresh topic and having at it.

I am the public and I think these topics should remain open. Noone felt attacked and if there was flaming in progress, it has been well moderated by Hawk and some other mods. These individuals only lower and discredit themselves by typing in such a wise. I for one can?t take them serious anyway, since they tend to flame and insult, while being anonymous. If they had the ?balls? to sign with their known nicnames, I might take them serious. I might want to add one or the other comment later on both topics and would be glad, if they could be unlocked.

Seriously, it is very easy to fall into a trap and get criticism for an action that was done with the best intent and meaning no harm to anyone. Redacteur has done a very good job so far and should keep it up. If I had closed that post this place would look like the aftermath of a food fight. What we all need to realize is that the 'volunteers' do something .. and even if they make a mistake .. they do something and contribute unlike others who simple do nothing but destroy and complain.
