I agree with Andy that a help book is essential for this game...I for one would much rather play the game than try to figure out how far hedgehogs are effective, what the turn radius of your ship is, or how it's best to attack a submarine. I think it's a shame that such a potentially good game is hampered by the lack of basic information or supplied tactics. (I just spent an hour in the first lesson trying to sink a sub...despite repeatedly dropping 'hogs and depth charges right on top of the sub, I couldn't sink it. Then, quite by accident, I dropped charges when the sub was quite a distance from my ship...and sank it. It would be helpful to know how that could happen.)

I think the Tides Fan Club should put a few of you "Enigma" Fans together to produce a "Hand Book" of your liking .. then it can be posted on the Enigma Fan site and kept up to date real Ez .. heck .. ya never know .. East might just add some graphics to it .. spiff it up for Tech ... and use it :)

I loose stuff all the time .. so would prefer and online version .. but heck.. everyones got pdf and printers .. we could even put it in PDF form ..

Wait .. "WE" ..who the heck are "we" ..doh.. U Enigma FANatics need a project ..

A guidebook is much needed. The operations manual (at least the PDF that comes with the latest North American demo), doesn't discuss weapons characterstic, topedo aiming (especially from fast patrol boats), strategies, etc. It ca also include mission walkthroughs.

In all honesty, this should be a web-based guide, with contributions compiled from experienced players.

Im working on an Idea for such book,

at first Im gonna make the layout, add some stuff etc, then I will pursuade my fellow Assassins brothers to add their input too, and in the end every player gets to add a comment or 2 or 3 if they like, and if they know what they are talking about. :)

I might not be done soon, its lots of work, and im currently working on a design that works, as *.html, *.pdf and *.doc

But I have a load of other things to do every single day :(

Here's an idea...if everyone who worked on designing this excellent game gave up one coffee break (or two) and contributed to what everyone above is suggesting, that would be even better. After all, who knows the game better then they?

"OK, astronauts," said the NASA man. "This is a space shuttle. I want you to write a manual on how to use it before you use it."

Well, that's stretching it a bit, but hopefully you get my point.
