Mid-Atlantic Air Museum WWII Weekend

I've lived in PA my whole life and have never heard of this before. It's their 25th anniversary this year.  Going to be tons of planes and other vehicles, veterans, and re-enactments.

Planning on going and taking a lots of pictures/video.  Sounds like it's going to be pretty awesome. Talked to some people on Facebook (they have their own group) and they all love it.

Here's a bunch of photos I took yesterday.

I tried to take some video but  I didn't get much that was that interesting. I thought I was getting some video of some planes taking off and then later on they were flying overheard doing different manuevers and stuff, but apparently when I thought I was recording, I had the video turned off and when I thought I was done recording I was actually turning it on, so I got a bunch of video of the ground.

It wasn't quite what I expected.

Most of it was military camps with items laid out like guns, ammo, tools, vehicles, etc. Wasn't much flying going on until about the time we started to leave, and i think that was mainly people getting rides (which were very expensive). They had a bunch of planes but I was expecting more fighters. They had maybe 5 or 6 fighters and they were all US planes.  Apparenly today there will be some more fighters, like 3 P-51s and some other stuff, plus they do air shows today and tomorrow.

They had a big vendor area with all kinds of period stuff for sale.

My dad, my niece, and nephew went along and the kids kind of ruined it for me. They were complaining like 2 hours after we got there. I don't think they liked it. I couldn't really look at stuff like I wanted to and I'm sure we missed a good bit of stuff because they just kep complaining.  If i go again I wouldn't take them along.  I think we were there for about 4-5 hours.

Got horribly sunburned on my face and neck and arms.

Yeah exatly Duxford, sounds great to visit these great places and became an little part of history in my life. The 2. Worldwar was terrible as well but the time after shows everyone what the humans have learned from this war, and also for the history of aviation was this terrible part very important. Well I'm very glad to visit someday these places. :D
