Seriously thinking about getting this game, but i`d be really interested in a multiplayer option. Is there one available for it and, if so, how does it play?

The mulitplayer client will be a free download out around Xmas. It will cost approx $10 per month to play and will have quarterly free upgrades;more vehicles etc.
There will be land,planes, aircraft carriers and Battleships. You can capture ships by hitting them in the *correct* spot to disable them. Ie rudder,radar,props etc then you can steal their enigma machine and crack the radio transmissions off the enemy!
Of course this is vice-versa, they will try and do the same to you.
The playing area is (from what i have heard) modeled on REAL scale 8,000 mile sized maps (or is it the whole globe?) and will be completely dynamic and ongoing.
If you buy the SP game, it comes with a months FREE online time to try-before-you-buy + it has 100 missions inc 3 campaigns which can be played by the three factions; surface or sub.
The SP will also be supported with a free downloadable missions/campaign anytime soon (not sure which we will get?)
There will also be the option of buying addons as well.
If you buy the Enigma GOLD release around Xmas, it will have the full SP and the multiplayer client inc with a months free online.

As far as I understand once US release of SP is out the door, warfleet.net will start to develop further.

i think he's thinking of an ip type online mode.. That isn't going in. The online will be massively multiplayer.
There is no LAN or TCP/IP multiplayer mode, it is strictly a single player game.
