616 at Operational Strength

616 conduct operations from Southend launching 8 Spitfires. Attending:

Whitey, Gosling, Unionjak, Daduck, Lobo, BlackSnake and Sluggo, accompanied by 71st Jester

Patrolling as a squadron meant the lone enemy aircraft they encountered stood little chance. Despite that the 109s put up valiant effort before being shot down or chased back to France.

The squadron has the intention to regularly patrol the skies of SE England and present a solid defence against the Luftwaffe.
