Usn - Surface Mission #3

Can somebody plz tell me what the f.... Im supposed to do....Im getting pretty frustrated here.
Im in 3rd mission US campaign. Im part of a 4 pack of torpedo boats. with the mission to stop a league convoy protected by a DE. In mission briefing I am told to sink the convoy. But when mission starts my radio man tells me new orders...take out the DE. Now Ive tryed everything. The few times Ive survived the encounter with the Destroyer and sunk it' date=' nothing happends.......my 3 buddies in the other torpedo boats are chewed up faster than I can get to the destroyer and sink it. everytime Ive succeded in sinking the destroyer it has taken all 4 of my torpedoes.......so now Im there all alone with the tankers happily sailing away....mission failure........after tons and tons of tryes I thought....maybe I am supposed to sink the tankers then??......so here I go and ignore the DE and sink the tankers...........and again Im with no ammo cause I only have 4 torpedoes in total and again the Destroyer have chewed up the other 3 torpedo boats and now Im left with the destroyer hunting me down, while Im defenceless and can do nothing but to run......in the end ofcourse it will get me cause I got no where to run....so again....mission failure........how do u even succed this mission??......ur team mates suck...so they always die........I only got 4 torpedeos so I can't sink everything by my own since the destroyer takes a heck of alot more than one torpede and to actually be so lucky to get all 4 of ur torpedoes to hit it is a miracle, so when I do sink it Im always left with no ammo which wouldnt matter much anyway if I had 1 or 2 torpedeoes left since there is more tankers than that??....

Definatly take out the DD first...and I don't have the new version yet and I forget in the demo but don't you have a deck gun to finish off the tankers with?

well......considering I get the destroyer...which I just did again trying once again......YES you do have a deck gun.........but 40mm run out of ammo very fast..........and 20mm dont do much damage if any at all to the tankers......and Im already hurt bad from the encounter with the DE.......my buddies are either dead or crippled so bad they dont help me much.........so not much I can do about the 5 tankers now drifting about out there happily going to their destination......if I try and get close enough to take'em out with my 20mm's then Im dead meat since Im already hurt bad and their AA guns just love to do some target practise on me..........
I think its rediculas so bad ur buddies play....I mean if they even survive they dont do s--- afterwards cause they are so hurt.........Im crippled myself but at least I try and get the tankers....but they just lie there exspecting me to now take out all the tankers with my bee bee guns for them...

people might say the difficulty is good and its realistic....but seriously.....if the commanders of the other torpedo boats sail realisticly........then I say its weird we dont all speak German today.......the friendly AI suck......and thats not realistic.....they are of not much use if any.........u end up having to do it all urself....and somehow I dont see how that is possible when u only have 4 torpedoes.....I mean what torpedo boat with respect for itself dont have a supply for at least one reload of tubes.......

Anyone actually play the surface campaign and succesfully finish this mission??.........I love this game' date=' I really do........but I myself find this mission rediculas as it is........I'd like the se the developers finish this mission.....cause it looks like they just randomly made this mission not thinking about that there is noway u can take out that destroyer without getting hurt......and then what after??......ur supposed to spit after the tankers??.....and make them die of fear or what??....cause ur buddies sure dont do anything usefull[/quote']

I think 20mm and 40mm is not considered as deck guns' date=' they are more of AA guns. Try the 3' or 4' or 5' guns [/quote']
